The officials let them play from the onset of the game and there were several plays that went over the line.

Sure there was a face mask missed on Goff and an inadvertent face mask on Cooks....

BUT.....

Watch Cory Littleton. He was headhunting in that game.

First he goes helmet to helmet on the tight end (from the side) and knocks him out of the game with a concussion.

Then...he comes right back with a helmet to helmet hit on Kamara...No call on either.

The tight end for the Saints immediately had to go into concussion protocol and never returned.

The first pass in the endzone that the te couldn't hold onto was PI on the Rams...no call.

I counted two PI's on NRC not called.

So the refs swallowed their whistles the ENTIRE game, so the fact they did not make a call on the last play did not surprise ME.

It was indicative of the entire game.

Vinovich and his crew made an over correction!

So the two "sure" face masks against us was it? You didn't see any other penalties on the Saints that also support your review? False starts, personal foul, kicking. Countless holding penalties, definitely on the saints, certain some on us too. I guess we committed more penalties taking advantage of the whistle swallowers....kinda reminds me of a Super Bowl back in 2001. It was that one sided?

Depends on who's looking I guess. I saw at least 4 holds on AD, probably 5. I saw a couple of holds on Fowler. I saw the Saint let the play clock expire twice, though I've read that it was 3 or 4 times. I saw a couple of PI's on the Saints. So.......

I guess we can say for the most part, they swallowed their whistles. They did flag Barron for PI in OT....the 'makeup call' but even that couldn't help the Saints win. On the next play Ingram lost 5 or 6 yards and the play after Fowler clocked Brees into the pick. I was worried they were going to flag JJ but even Mike P. explained that wasn't possible. Thomas initiated the contact.

Eventually after the internet experts watch this game a dozen times or so, diagnosing every play, we'll get the count of how many penalties weren't flagged and a breakdown of how many gifted the Rams and how many gifted the Saints. Bottom line for me is, the Saints had their chances early and late and failed to capitalize. Did the blatent PI call kill them? No. Just like the missed facemask on JG didn't kill us. Both team had their chances after those non calls and the Saints came up empty.....again. At least it wasn't like last year when all they had to do was knock it down!!!! Instead they allowed an improbable Stephon Diggs TD. Payton needs to STFU and everybody clamoring for drastic changes needs to do the same thing.

I’m so tired of these Saints fans crying because this one call.

They had the benefit of the doubt on many non-calls in that game but this one call is the only one that matters? Grow up already.

Exactly my point. Maybe if and once everyone calms down and looks at ALL the missed calls and their potential impact, and accepts the fact that the Saints had multiple chances to put the Rams away early, and win it after the non-call - they will get some balance.

Let's take SB36 that I referenced above; yes, the Pats held Faulk and committed what seemed like a lot of PI calls that weren't . called. But, the Rams let Brady drive down the field in the last minute or so, get into FG range and kick the game winner. NONE of those missed calls would have mattered had the Rams D stopped the Pats.

Had the Saints taken the opening possession and scored a TD, that PI call wouldn't even be discussed.

But I bet us Rams fans would be talking about that face-mask non call on Goff as the game changer.

That's just how it is, how fans are, and how the media is.

Eli Apple lead with his head on a helmet to helmet tackle of Woods.
They let em play all right.
They just let New Orleans play a little more, only 3 penalties for 20 yards while the NFC CHAMPS were penalized 7 for 64

@laram, this post now shows a pattern. You are digging far deeper into finding fault in the Rams than you are attempting to be thorough. Or at least you are putting a negative spin.

But you were spot on about the refs letting the players decide the outcome.

Just the uncontrollable illegal whistles and the unethical instructions from the HC may have been the refs subjective reaction to just let them play.

Crowd noise is a challenge in their stadium. Why was it so much higher?

Home field advantage is one thing. Coaching the crowd and illegal instruments is another.

Payton may as well taped the walk thru as well.

What a jerk.

Oh, you’re just mad that “little Cooksie” had a big game and Marcus “Worst Player on the Team” Peters had a solid outing.

If you honestly think the officiating was skewed in the Rams’ favor over the course of the game, you clearly have a bias against this team.

So tell us...and be honest...what team are you actually a fan of?
