If Stan does not get approved to relocate after this year what are his options?

1. Not take the Peacock deal and play year to year at the horrible ED Dome?
2. Just move the team anyway to LA and fight the league in court?
3. Stl. Government does not pass the bill for the bonds and Stan has his out?
4. Sell the team and wait for the Broncos to be sold?

Am I missing any possible outcomes?

I have a feeling he's moving come hell or high water. He wouldn't have done everything he's done up to now only to let politics get in the way.

Well, he has the option to stay in STL rent free for 10 more years. Each year being an opportunity to leave.

In that time, he could go rogue and build his palace in Inglewood and sue the league(and win). Or, he could recant and build a mecca in St. Louis. Buy up all the land he needs, fight an uphill battle of red tape and spend all the money in bribes it would likely take to appease the greedy STL politicians and then likely get extorted for years to come. Or, he could lead the NFL to London where he's already got a stadium.

Stan has plenty of options.

There is plenty of mystery regarding this land, and several unknowns. But what we do know is this land has not yet been purchased, so there was no need for this to leak when it did if not by design. Kroenke keeps things quiet unless he doesn't want things kept quiet, particularly for something of this nature that could have easily been locked under wraps for now.

For whatever the reason(s), this information got out before it had to get out. I don't know exactly what the motive was/is specifically, but I am absolutely certain it was not delivered by accident.

To be plain, this prospective real estate buy may very well never directly involve a stadium. On the other hand, I have no doubt that this revelation did not come out without the stadium situation in mind, either.

With that said, one of a few speculative theories that I have heard kicked around plays out as follows:

In the scenario that Kroenke applies for relocation and is unapproved to move, he could prefer to institute a project similar to New England's privately owned Patriot Place instead of participating in the Task Force's downtown stadium development proposal.

In doing so, Kroenke would become the sixth owner in the NFL -- along with the owners of the Dolphins, Eagles, Panthers, Patriots and Redskins -- who own their stadium.

So, in the event that he were unapproved for L.A., there is a belief by some that he would then prefer to own the dirt and entire stadium development in Maryland Heights -- a long-discussed potential stadium site near the Rams current practice facilities -- rather than be part of a second downtown venue and a stadium development that he would not have full control over.

If he really wants LA that badly, he'll push forward anyway, if it's more about getting out of St Louis, I think he looks to Toronto or London.

Nice spin, Shane Gray. Let's just pretend St. Louis is a great NFL market with potential for lucrative side deals. Let's pretend that if SK doesn't move to LA, he'd want a stadium so badly, that he'd invest a billion plus in St. Louis rather than wait for an international opportunity or a better market. If SK were to remain, he'd just check off his one year leases where he would pay virtually nothing to play in a free stadium and wait for London, etc.

Just once I'd like for this guy or Bernie to acknowledge that St. Louis is a sub par market with the worst attendance in the NFL.

If LA gets the Oakland/San Diego deal, I cant see Stan going rogue and building Inglewood. 3 teams in LA?

What a load of crap. How does this guy "know" what stan is thinking? If he is so tuned into what stan is thinking, he would realize why Stan wants out of St. Louis. Poor attendance. Half the luxury boxes unsold. Poor economic outlook. He will make tons more money than if he stayed.

All Shane's writing hinges on giving folks in St. Louis hope the Rams aren't going anywhere.
