Liam Dillon, an attorney for "Voice of San Diego", a citizens group, has filed a lawsuit against the city of San Diego to reveal their records regarding discussions between the Chargers, the NFL and the City of Carson.

Looking more and more like there never really was real effort to build a stadium in Carson, and it was always a leverage ploy. As you all know from reading my posts here that I NEVER believed,(and still don't) that they were really serious about building a stadium in Carson.

Not really sure if this is good news or bad news for Stan and the Rams moving to LA. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this development.

Carson officials on Chargers/Raiders stadium talks: Sorry, we never wrote anything down

Posted on June 1, 2015 by Neil deMause

Wondering how exactly the negotiations between the city of Carson and the owners of the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders went before those teams’ surprise announcement of stadium plans in February on the heels of St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke declaring his interest in a stadium in nearby Inglewood? So was the Voice of San Diego, so it asked Carson city officials, and this is what it was told:

What did those negotiations consist of? Not a single email, text message, memo or anything on paper at all between the teams or the NFL and any elected official in Carson, according to city officials…

Carson is not saying that written communications between its elected officials and the Chargers, Raiders and league should be shielded from public view because they are part of real estate negotiations or other legitimate exemptions from the state’s records laws. No, they’re saying that there are literally zero electronic or paper communications between Carson’s elected officials and the NFL.

The VoSD is now suing to force the release of documents that it’s sure must exist. The entertainment value here is potentially awesome, so stay tuned.

Unfreaking believable. We all kind of guessed that this was a leverage poly but it sure seems more certain now ,,, unless they are hiding documents which I would find extremely suspicious.
What are the odds if this was posted at ROD or RRF it would be dismissed as hog wash?

I posted this at RRF earlier this morning and so far 40 reads but no response. I'm guessing now that it looks like Stan really has no stadium compition they're hope for the rams to stay in St. Louis doesn't look so good now. Especially with all the roadblocks popping up in St. Louis. A new stadium in st. Louis looks less and less likely.

On a side-- Fred Roagan just came on 980am here in LA, and he's all over this. He's going to have the mayor of Carson on later. I can't wait to hear what he has to say. Probably going to say he doesn't know anything cause he wasn't the mayor when it all went down, Evade and cop-out.

yeah I bet,,, you got that right Bubba. slowly but surely the pieces are falling in place. I'm glad you posted that and I'm going to head over and give a reply..

I'm sorry that there won't be a stadium in your backyard to increase your property value.

That he has personally never heard of the Chargers or emailed them or gave them a Valentine card or anything and he is stunned by the potential law suit by SD.
What I don't get is why the citizens of San Diego are suing Carson. Shouldn't they sue the Chargers for trying to sell them a bill of goods by using Carson? I know, they're trying to keep their team, but that's no way to endear your team to you when they are already threatening to leave, and the end game is the same..
