Rams have signed Shields. Another good move by the FO. If he has re-gained his form he can be a force as a CB coupled with Peters or even as the new slot CB. Hopefully it's a cap friendly deal and this piece #2 do the D rebuild (Peters being #1).

Next week is going to be fun!

Low risk, high reward signing. Solid move. Shouldn't alter any plans.

Sam Shields worked out at the Rams' facility on Tuesday and impressed the coaches enough to make them believe he can provide depth, perhaps even compete for playing time. From 2012 to 2016, Peters generated either an INT or a PD on 16.2 percent of targets thrown into his coverage, fifth-best among CBs during that stretch, according to Pro Football Focus. He has 18 INTs in 80 career regular-season games.

Shields not only depth insurance, with his experience and age, a mentor for Marcus Peters.
