OK, I have to admit that I was a huge Shanahan fan and was disappointed when we signed McVay (hanging head in shame), this guy is a miracle. I think his closeness in age to the players makes a big difference, I think Sean's excitement is infectious. Not to mention the talent he injected into this team. I watch Shanahan and I see him moping along the sidelines and am so thankful he's wearing the enemies logos. I think we have such a complete team, so many teams are good here and there, we seem complete and can only get better. I think we could lose to Philly but that's it, giving us a 13-3 record. Just making the playoffs as a non wildcard team is good enough for me this year, after that..... To the moon Alice.

honestly, i wasn't thrilled with the prospect of getting shanny, seemed to me that he was parlaying the falcons great 2016 success into a hc gig, much like spags parlayed his 2007 super bowl success into a hc gig, albeit shanny at least had more time on the job in the coordinator ranks, but who the hell didn't?

anyway ryan was a 3-time pro bowler before shanny ever arrived in atlanta and the falcons finished in the top 10 in offensive scoring 4 times in 6 years with ryan under center, before shanny arrived, so it's not like he went there and did wonders imo, they were a strong offense before he got there... i suppose you could blame the falcons' offensive dropoff this season on shanny leaving, but i dunno.... here's a look at what shanny has done as oc in terms of where his teams ranked in offensive scoring, blue text shows how teams did before he took over as oc:

I'll admit I was on the Shanahan bandwagon early on in the interview process. When they hired McVay I was skeptical. I wasn't convinced he was the best option. But I'm sure glad I was wrong. To be fair though, McVay stepped into a better situation than Shanahan. The 49ers have a ways to go.

The Rams situation reminds me of the 49er situation when they hired Harbaugh. There was talent but they needed the right guy to put it together along with a couple additions in key areas. There is one big difference that is in our favor. Our front office is not likely to feud with the coach and drive him away. McVay is ours as long as we want him.

I think the #1 thing though, is McVay is a brilliant offensive coordinator.

All the other stuff is great but without his X's and O's, his ability to get the most out of his players on offense, where are we? He said it himself, he gets his players to buy in by making them better. And so far it's working like a charm.

I like when he's off to himself sitting on the Gatorade coolers looking at his tablet getting ready for the next series. But can you imagine if we were 2-6 instead of 6-2, he'd be crucified for that sort of thing.

It's a results business.

We're 6-2 and Sean McVay deserves every bit of the credit he's getting...
