Of course the St. Louis media have gotten on this. Has LA media picked it up?

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke criticised by animal rights campaigners after launching 'sick' hunting channel in UK
-MyOutdoorTV is an app which broadcasts hunting and fishing programmes
-Animal rights campaigners have slammed the channel for glorifying bloodsport
-Stan Kroenke's company launched the channel to UK subscribers this weekend
-One programme 'Tracks Across Africa' depicts hunters shooting at elephants

I'm undecided how I feel about this ... (I"m not a hunter) ... but I'm glad you posted this.

It is the British tabloid media, so step lightly. Just wondering if this will get any play in America outside of St. Louis.

I'm not a hunter either,, unless I'm real hungry. Otherwise catch and release.

Those animals likely preferred to be alive.

Promoting that sort of thing would be in bad form. Not quite Vick'esque but in that zip code.

I'm sure L.A. in general would hate that sort of thing but i don't know that our NFL fans would know or care.

Still it could become an issue since Kroenke wants to do a lot more with his stadium then just play football...

I'm not sure I understand the issue.
The hunting that the channel endorses is not illegal or in any way showing abuse, right?
Is this any different than all the fishing/hunting shows that have been on ESPN and the like forever?
Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's are two of the largest retail chains of this stuff, just dont see where its a problem.

Clearly, I am missing something (as usual)

Lions, elephants and other endangered species are killed for blood sport . It's not a fair fight. This is the argument of animal rights activists. I personally tend to align with that. Having said that, I have been a spear fisherman for years. However I never kill what I don't intend to eat.

ESK's program is PPV though. If folks don't want to see it they don't have to. Many people love to hunt so he is providing a service for them.
It still promotes the blood sport though which many don't agree with. ESK is being judged by his alignment with the hunters. This could put off a lot of folks , , especially in LA / Cali.

Who thinks these dudes would have stood a chance against these animals without their rifles. And what happened to these animals after these photos were taken?

I'm with you, Hack. My very limited knowledge of big game (elephants, big cats, etc.) is that these animals are not killed for food but sport. Perhaps stuffed or their heads hung over fireplaces around the world. Most of these big game seem to be endangered to one extent or another, so killing them just makes their numbers smaller.

Hunting for something that you eat is completely different, provided you are not hunting an endangered species. I'm not a hunter, but I respect hunters as willing to go through the effort to catch their food. Most of us are quite content to acquire our food from a supermarket, which always seems kind of dweeby to me...I include myself in that category.

I will say I respect hunters who put themselves in the food chain in order to hunt. As a spear fisherman, Hack, you are definitely in the shark habitat arena. Are you using a spear gun or the spear with the "rubber" strap that you "shoot" with just one arm?

I don't much respect people who shoot game from the back of their trucks. At least, get out and hike into the mountains where the cougars hang out.

I have a buddy who hunts with the traditional bow and arrow, not the bow with the pulleys and sites, just the basic bow.
