The plays I saw, Pead ran toward the left sideline and got tackled as he was going out of bounds--and lost the ball. It wasn't a fumble since he was out of bounds but he lost control of it. The next highlight was him running up the middle and stretching in for the TD--and losing the ball.Isn't that why he's been chained to the bench all this time? If what I saw was what I think I saw, I see him not making the final roster this year. by Chabram 9 years 6 months ago Total posts: 14 Joined: Jul 04 2015 LA Coliseum Undrafted Free Agent Re: Isaiah Pead POST #2 I think he temporarily will make the roster simply because of Watts' 4 game suspension. However, when Watts comes back I see him being cut then.Gurley, Mason, Cunningham, and Pead initially and then Watts unless Brown has made an impression. by OldSchool 9 years 6 months ago Total posts: 1750 Joined: Jun 09 2015 LA Coliseum Pro Bowl Re: Isaiah Pead POST #3 Thought he looked good the second series, after the interception. I'd be shocked if he wasn't on the 53 at least until Watts comes back then Fisher will have a tough choice to make. Gurley isn't likely to play week 1 much if at all and Mason is dinged with the hammy. Would we really go into week 1 vs the Seaducks with just Benny and Chase? by dieterbrock 9 years 6 months ago Total posts: 11512 Joined: Mar 31 2015 New Jersey Hall of Fame Re: Isaiah Pead POST #4 IIRC he was in the dog house because of the whole weed suspension thing, then he got his chance to earn his stripes by playing ST and when he ws turning the corner, he got hurtI feel like people hold a grudge against this kid. I for one hope he gets a chance to show what hes made of. Hes got some skills. Watts lit it up in pre-season but not in an nfl game. Not sure why he gets a pass for indescretion while Pead doesnt. by den-the-coach 9 years 6 months ago Total posts: 870 Joined: May 22 2015 Fifty-four Forty or Fight Veteran Re: Isaiah Pead POST #5 Pead had ball security issues at Cincinnati and it carried over early in his career, however, he finally realized he needed to contribute on special teams and as dieter points out then got hurt. Thought he played well on Thursday and will make the team IMO because of the suspension to Watts, but when Watts comes back unless Pead just simply goes off I believe they will cut him then. I have concerns game one because Mason is hurt and Cunningham looks less explosive still solid in pass protection and catching the football, but Bennie not hitting the hole fast enough IMO. Pead is not the most instinctive runner, however, is very good in space and has the most top end speed of all the Ram running backs with the exception of Gurley of course. by dieterbrock 9 years 6 months ago Total posts: 11512 Joined: Mar 31 2015 New Jersey Hall of Fame Re: Isaiah Pead POST #6 I just dont understand the love for Watts. He'll be 4th string RB and WTF was he thinking failing a drug test when his NFL career is hanging in the balance. At least with Pead he was a contributor on ST as a gunner. As for his Cincy career, I dont recall ball security issues at all, in fact IIRC it was the opposite, I think he had no fumbling issues at all which is why when he fumbled here it was a head scratcher. Pead is built to be a 3rd down back who can take a screen to the house.Watts? by OldSchool 9 years 6 months ago Total posts: 1750 Joined: Jun 09 2015 LA Coliseum Pro Bowl Re: Isaiah Pead POST #7 dieterbrock wrote:IIRC he was in the dog house because of the whole weed suspension thing, then he got his chance to earn his stripes by playing ST and when he ws turning the corner, he got hurtI feel like people hold a grudge against this kid. I really couldn't care less about Pead either way. Don't love him, don't hate him. Although I think it was a poor draft pick I don't hold it against Pead, I hold it against Snisher. But, just as I haven't disliked the myriad other RB's they've taken, I want Pead to actually be on the field and producing or gone. In terms of approach, this regime is quickly losing my favor. When you look back at all the skill players they've spent decent draft resources on, it's frustrating to think that the o-line is still a mess. Givens, Pead, Quick, Stacy, Bailey, Austin and Mason...I'd gladly get rid of any/all of them in favor of OL at this point. They're all JAG's and this regime obviously needs to implement the mud on the wall strategy of identifying OL. Looking back at those 7 picks, I can't help but think that Snisher really don't know how to draft players on offense. The worst part is, they had to trade up and spend even more draft capital to assemble that group. Isaiah Pead really is the poster boy for this regime. I for one hope he gets a chance to show what hes made of. Hes got some skills. Watts lit it up in pre-season but not in an nfl game. Not sure why he gets a pass for indescretion while Pead doesnt.I agree, I think some people look at he was a 2nd round pick and he had issues early in his career and no matter what he does he'll always be a bust to them. by moklerman 9 years 6 months ago Total posts: 7680 Joined: Apr 17 2015 Bakersfield, CA Hall of Fame Re: Isaiah Pead POST #8 TOPIC AUTHOR OldSchool wrote:dieterbrock wrote:IIRC he was in the dog house because of the whole weed suspension thing, then he got his chance to earn his stripes by playing ST and when he ws turning the corner, he got hurtI feel like people hold a grudge against this kid.
