Nothing outside is allowed. Bottles will be pitched. They should have people on bullhorns telling you the rules. Every stadium I've been in since the new rules does that.

Plus once you buy a bottle soda or water inside, they take the cap.

At the Cowboys game in Arlington they even made us pitch formula and were pretty jerky about it.

Baseball stadiums vary. Busch and Kaufmann allow stuff but Wrigley is hardcore.

I've also carried water into Blues, Blackhawks and Predators games.

Dodger Stadium let you bring any food and up to 1 L of water per person. We usually bring Subway sandwiches chips etc. and they have no problem with it. For UCLA and USC football games, they let you bring in water, snacks, even unopened Gatorade. I think it's just the NFL. Apparently they don't have enough money.
