Yesterday on the Beast, she had Howard Balzer on talking about the NFL position on StL stadium progress. Of course, Balzer gave the pro StL viewpoint. But it was Zelasko that surprised me.

Zelasko went on to say that her sources told her things have changed regarding the Rams recently. They may not be coming to LA. She cited 2 major reasons. One is that the NFL is gonna have a very hard time turning down money from StL, especially when they don't see much coming from SD and Oak. She said that the guys on the LA committee, like Kraft and Mara, will have a hard time snubbing StL if they come up with all the money to build a new stadium. And that committee will set the stage for what the NFL does regarding LA. Second is that she heard that Kroenke had made a promise to all the owners that he will not go rogue and move to LA regardless. She said this is a 180 degree change from she has been hearing regarding the Rams, and she said the Rams are very frustrated with these developments.

I am a bit confused about what Zelasko is all about. Is she a reputable sports reporter or is she just someone who likes to throw crap out there to fill air time? She has been all over the place on the NFL to LA story, so I just can't get a read on her.

Anyone have a good read on her?

I have no idea. But when someone throws out sources without actually attaching a name to it, I get a little skeptical. These kind of reports are going to be going back and forth for the rest of the year. Are her sources better than someone else's? Maybe Zelasko is telling Balzer and his listeners what they want to hear?

What S. Louis money? So far, they haven't come up with half the money and they still are depending on Stan and the NFL for more than the other half. They are never going to come up with "All the money" That statement right there tells me she is talking out her backside. As for her knowing what the owners think I say BS. No one knows what they think.
And then there's still 2 lawsuits out there with 2 weeks for the owners meeting. Judge Frawley is taking his time coming down with a decision on the first one, and if it takes that long for the second lawsuit, it won't be made in time for the meeting. No corporate financing, lawsuits, negative market study. Its a done deal.

By the way, what's the status of that second lawsuit? Anyone know?

Hard to argue with the premise that Jeanne is not the best advocate for women being taken seriously in sports media. She is no Judy Battista.

Zelasco got he start on in Sand Diego back in the early 90's. She has worked for Fox sports and is married to Curt Sandoval, one of ABC 7's weekend / overflow LA sports anchors. She probably has a few connections.

Did anyone hear if Fred Roggin had a response? Fred clearly stated the other day in an interview that he had gotten a leak about Carson and Floyd Kephart also confirmed that he knew somethings were seriously a foul in Carson. This offset's JZ's assertion, unless AEG/Farmers Field is being resuscitated behind the scenes or something.

As BRT said, she also reported the exact opposite happening first out of the gate. Since then, she has stated something like this twice over a month long time span,, this being the 2nd.

So we are all in agreement that the scenario we have been touting makes the most sense for everyone but StL and Spanos to some degree (waiting for Stan to get his head start and renting from him is probably not his first choice).
But does it make the most sense?
I get helping out Davis. He seems to have little choice other than to rot in the Alameda Coliseum forever if some cash infusion or relocation doesn't occur. But that cash infusion is made possible through the relocation fee/ G4.
Spano's has the C of SD's attention and they're offering him what he wants now. Downtown. The voters, EPA etc could still put the kibosh on those plans though. But he has the option of moving into Inglewood.
Did she qualify or disqualify any of these points specifically?

When she says ALL of the money, does she mean ALL of the HALF?
I mean that comment makes it sound more like a PR angle than a financial 'must do'.

Is St Louis more important to the league than San Diego and Oakland combined?
Include running the risk of flooding LA with the least wanted teams per poll.

How much more money will the league generate (not the teams) by having 16 home games in LA vs potentially just 8 each season.
The answer to this question could be the only reason to choose the Charaiders over the Rams. Otherwise you are awarding the 2 weak sisters the grand prize and stiffing the guy who offers the best plan and has greater financial power. LA becomes the repair shop for the leagues current stadium problems. Nice.

She mentions the Rams frustration too . How would she know this? Is someone in Kroenkes camp leaking info. Did ESK tell the league he's frustrated and someone in the league decided to leak it to Jeannie Zelasco?

My guess,, she is a SD girl and Fabiani is her source.

She got us to post her picture so I guess one of the possible scenarios she had in mind is a success. I have my doubts she is on to something. Here's to hoping I'm right.

The narrative for some is the NFL doesn't want to turn down 400mill public money.
Ok. Stan has to put in 250 plus the G4 for the stadium.

A move to Inglewood Stan would give let's say 500 to the NFL.

And he might not need the G4 for Inglewood.

Basically the NFL is getting 500 mill from Stan. The STL 400 mill is going towards a stadium that the city owns.

The NFL would benifit greater if Stan moved to Inglewood. If Stans cool with spending his own money and helping Spanos and Davis out. The NFL nets 500 mill Bc Stan gives it to them plus he might not need the 200 G4 loan from the NFL . STL is not giving 400 mill to Stan or to the NFL.

Am I wrong? Makes sense right?
