1. We're close.
The Rams were the only team that gave the Eagles a tough game in the playoffs. If you believe, as I do, that there is such thing as momentum from year to year, the Rams' arrow is pointed upwards.

2. Matthew Stafford is Really Good
Jordan Love was completely dominated in the Wild Card round (212 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs). Jayden Daniels struggled in the NFCCG (255 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT). Patrick Mahomes was humbled in the Super Bowl (stats horrible until garbage time). Matthew Stafford threw for 324 yards, 2 TD and no INTs in the snow. Sign him. Sign him NOW!

3. Trenches Still Win Championships.
If the best player on the board when the Rams draft is a OT or DL, take him. When your lines dominate, all else falls into place.

4. Groundwork begins now.
A year ago, the Eagles were coming off a WC round loss after entering the postseason with the NFL's 30th best defense (yards/game). Some key additions and scheme adjustments - they were the No. 1 defense this year. I think the Rams have the laid the groundwork to have a similar jump (though they're starting from a better place) with the right additions.

5. Home run threat is needed.
Throughout the playoffs, the threat (and reality) of Saquon Barkley taking a handoff and going 50+ yards was a huge advantage for the Eagles. When the Chiefs adjusted to stop this, they eventually fell prey to the bomb to DeVonta Smith. Those clamoring for the Rams to obtain more speed on offense have a point.

There has been no drop off. I even dislike the statmuse stat because it does not consider the strength of schedule and the injuries that plague the Rams in the early season. This talk of trading MS must stop! And it's all conjecture, nobody in the organization has hinted at or even suggested this would/could happen.

IF MS is somehow traded, it can ONLY be for someone that is a known quantity and that is better. There are very few options that exist in the NFL like that. It's certainly NOT in the draft.

I couldn't agree more with this, Kyren performs above expectations in blocking, but his inability to break off big runs, and his history of fumbling at the worst possible time tells me there is VAST room for improvement at the RB position.

Yes true, but I think clearly McVay wants to get faster more dynamic at the WR position, hence Kupp getting traded.

There is only one Saquon rt now. Yes we would add some speed, but I actually felt Kyren looked faster (he has been working on his long speed). Kyren had more then a few opps where he could have went the distance, usually just tripped.

Now he has to work on the fumbles this off season.

Back to speed, I think the Rams want to get that at TE as well. Lot of young studs in this draft at TE.

Stafford wants to keep playing. Presumably with the Rams. They have no better option at the position. He's proven he can still play at a high level. He's proven he can win big games. I don't believe they'd be willing to move on from him and start over at the position. That would pretty much degrade any chances they have of being a legit Superbowl contender.

MCV wants explosive playmakers at WR, TE, and likely RB. Although I think he can live with who we currently have at RB if he gets explosive playmakers at the other 2 positions.

I can’t see Stafford getting traded. The only real option if that were to happen would be A Rogers. Yes he is a polarizing personality and perhaps more me than we. But, he’s the only option who has actually won playoff games at an appreciable level. He would be a 1 year bridge to 2026 where finding a quality rookie/young QB or trading for a younger established stud QB would become paramount.

Kyren is a TD machine and a great blocker. We would really miss his red zone skills if he’s not on the field. Although Wendell Tyler had a longer stride he was also a low to the ground choppy style RB with good twitch and his own fumbling problems. Still, Kyren reminds me more of Tyler than other RBs these days. He has power, he is simply not a HR threat. Workhorse or 2 back system. It doesn’t sound like Corum is the answer. 3rd round pick. Now what?

Not sure why you'd say that about Corum. He's considerably faster than Kyren (4.53 at Combine compared to Kyren's 4.65) and had a lot of long runs at Michigan.

That said, if the Rams don't extend Kyren, and they decide to take another back in the draft, I wouldn't mind a guy with sub-4.5 speed. A guy to watch (from my neck of the woods): R.J. Harvey, UCF.

I don’t get some of the Corum hate off of his rookie season and very limited opportunities. I’m far from giving up on him. They do need a 3rd RB who has breakaway speed. I’d love them to have a scat-type/jack of all trades back who can run reg running plays but also is a threat out of the backfield.
