I don't know if you have seen this but it's a good breakdown of how far Shula has come with his young guys. This defense is well on it's way to being elite. It's the kind of aggressive defensive play design that I have loved for years. It's very reminiscent of what John Pagano used to run in San Diego but adapted by Shula for the better talent that he has with the Rams.

People rightly criticize Darnold for holding the ball but these defensive plays are not something he's probably seen which probably was a major factor in him holding the ball too long in confusion. It was a masterful use of his squad's talent.

Shula IMO is the defensive version of McVay, he's aggressive, creative and a very good playcaller.
