Any NFL team can beat any other NFL team in any given game. Coaching, roster depth, luck all factor in. Now add in player temperment or mental state and upsets can happen if the so called "better" team simply doesn't take care of business. I actually had Drake Maye rated higher in the draft than Caleb Williams simply because of his style of play. Maye IMO will have a longer and perhaps a better career. He's a strong armed, accurate QB who can move when he needs to. He's extremely coachable and isn't scheme limited. IMO Williams is far more scheme limited and it's why I rated Maye higher. Also Williams probably plays on a more talented roster. The Pats lost IMO because of questionable coaching decisions which IMO has been a huge problem for them all year. They are a team better than their record. If they don't stupidly and arrogantly play that cover zero, the Rams might have lost that game. Had their OL been better they might have won (we saw the havoc wrought with one inept OL player on the Rams against the Fins). IMO had they played their current OL the Rams beat Miami. But they didn't did they? They lost to a team with a worse record. You take the wins you get and move on from the losses. One game at a time is so very true in the NFL. By record the Rams shouldn't have a chance against either Buffalo or Eagles. But I think the Rams will be in those games with a chance to win. It will come down to who makes the biggest mistakes. Allen is viewed as one of the best QBs in the NFL. But I've watched him make mind numbing mistakes. The same can be said about the Eagles. If the Rams can crank up their offense early and keep the offensive pressure on, the Rams most certainly can play with those two teams.A team's record is a byproduct of a whole lot of things over and above roster talent. The Rams are a perfect example of that as they are a team that is better than their record especially when healthy.Karty is a good PK but he missed an absolute chip shot FG. If he makes that the game would never have been in doubt. The margin for error is small in the NFL. Jackson by his poor play IMO cost them the Dolphin game. Karty with one missed FG might have cost them the game in NE. But then the Pat's coaches gave it right back with their crazy stupid cover zero against a 16 yr vet, potentially HOF QB in Stafford. Yup in any given game the so called better team might not play like it.A dub is a dub and I will take them anyway they come. by ramsww 2 days 18 hours ago Total posts: 589 Joined: Aug 11 2022 LA Coliseum Veteran My Game Assessment: RAMS @ NE POST #9 I agree with the OP but my comment. I know when I was on the field we constantly called out and directed our teammates to the action, i.e, where’s the ball? I also know the level of noise, the speed of the game and other factors make this a challenge. I’ve seen the rams 4-5 DBs constantly trailing WRs with Rozeboom standing in zone not seeing the WR slip behind him. No chance the DBs can catch up and the WR catch & run for a big gain. I know that’s the achilles’ heal of zone but it just seems the inexperience and lack of communication is killing us. Now my Q. We didn’t make any moves from outside (that worked out) to improve our CB situ. How then do we improve from this point enough to make the playoffs?? Schemes, personnel changes, anyone on the PS worth promoting? by snackdaddy 2 days 18 hours ago Total posts: 9842 Joined: May 30 2015 Merced California Hall of Fame Re: My Game Assessment: RAMS @ NE POST #10 actionjack liked this post I'm thinking Limmer will be the starting center the rest of the way. If this team stays healthy the rest of the way I can see another second half run. After Philly and Buffalo I don't see anyone who is considered better than us. Hopefully improve is what they do.The Pats have been good lately, handled the Bears easily 19-3.The o-line played well and boom offense clicked. Next week we cant make the errors we made today or we dont have a chance.Kitchens is still learning where to be, but what I do love is he brings the boom on tackles.
