With Puka ailing again, this will be a prime opportunity for Whittington to emerge as the WR that the Rams project him to be. When he was drafted I saw him as Atwell's replacement. Whittington has Robinson's size but runs in the low 4.4 range. That is fast enough to take that deep threat role, especially with his length of 6'1" and 10" hands.

But this week I see him filling Puka's role in the offense. Or they could shift Robinson to Puka's role and use Whittington as their deep threat option which might be better overall as Jordan is faster than Robinson.

Next year will be interesting depending upon how Whittington plays the rest of the season. If he can emerge as another Nacua it certainly gives them options should Kupp be traded or retires. Cooper is technically under contract in 2025 but $29.7 M is a lot to pay for a guy that misses so much time every year. If Kupp isn't on the roster that would immediately make Puka #1WR and Whittington expected to fill his former role out of the slot.

Next year we might see starting WRs Nacua, Whittington and Atwell (if Robinson isn't extended like I anticipate, they will probably offer an extension to Atwell).

Regardless, I think they have big expectations for Whittington and that could very well begin this coming Sunday vs the Seahawks.

He's been nursing a shoulder injury. Hopefully he'll be a full go Sunday...
