An UDFA CB with average length (5'11") but good speed (4.4 range). His film looks decent in press but a bit iffy in off coverages. What I did like is he has decent agility in coverage and it brings up the need at SCB. He's raw in his technique but if he sticks on the Rams he could be a factor later in the season if he's on the PS or next year. This will allow Shula to keep Lake at safety where he is best suited.

I like Tomlinson but I think he's simply too limited in how he can be used and he came in painfully raw.

Jerry Jacobs makes them 4 deep at CB with Williams, White, Durant, and now Jacobs. Right now I think Jacobs could be headed to SCB with the ability to bump outside if needed. Jacobs has the talent to play at this level, you have to wonder if it had more to do with scheme fit. Regardless I can see why Pleasant wanted him, as if he blossoms he could be a real find. He's signed on a one year minimum deal but it wouldn't surprise me if he isn't extended considering William's age.

With all the injuries and coming back from injuries that we've seen thus far at the DB position, I am really intrigued as to why we still haven't re-signed Ahkello Witherspoon...? :?2:

Pleasant knew him briefly in Detroit. In 2021, when Pleasant was a Lions DB coach. That was Jacobs' rookie year.
