After watching Tom last night and a few other games this year it's clear to me that he's no longer "Tom Brady". He may well be the GOAT but those days are over. I truly hope he calls it a career.

He really screwed up by not staying retired last year. He could have gone out on top (and maybe even saved his marriage).

I too have watched a ton of Brady this year, mostly due to FFT (he wasnt on my team lol). He has looked pretty bad most of the season except late in the 4th Q when he would run a 2 minute offense and call his own plays.

It pains me to say this, but he can still hurt you with his deep ball, but he appears to be only effective when he has the defense tired in 2 min. I hope he retires now, but I think TB12 is the type a guy where the league is going to have to tell him to stop.

It's pretty hard to believe that Brady would prioritize one last, mediocre season in the league over his marriage. And so probably that wasn't the primary reason his marriage ended.

But to this uninterested observer, that's sure the way it looked publicly.

He'll retire when his interests outside of football outweigh his massive ego. But I have to wonder when that will be. He was 45, won 7 Superbowls, in the postseason 19 times but he chose football over his marriage. I expect ego-wise, he'll want to play again just to prove this year was an aberration and he'll retire when they carry him off.

Before the game...

Tom: "Okay... time for you to make things happen for me!"

Satan: "Um, no... our deal expired when you turned 45."

Tom: "No... it goes until I turn 46!"

Satan: "I'll tell you what... I'll put a hex on the Cowboys kicker to give you a boost. The rest is up to you."

Tom: "I can accept that."

I think it is very difficult to understand the mind of Brady because he's led such a singular life. The rundown as I see it:
* Kind of ignored, neglected out of college
* Immediate success with SB
* WWE-style NFL scripting leading to even more success; being told repeatedly how great you are.
* Coming to grips with the fact that a lot of people actually kind of hate you
* Nearly being caught massively cheating. Now basically everyone outside the northeast hates you.
* Not winning quite as much and people openly wondering if you're past your prime
* Being handed multiple SB wins by incompetent teams, you're back on top .. but everyone still hates you. You have to take enjoyment from rubbing their nose in it.
* Your supermodel wife is now haranguing you to quit; but nobody tells you what to do!

Somewhere around bullet four or five, he turned into what I'd consider a clinical psychopath.

I know that is the hot rumor, but IMO it doesnt make sense. The Raiders are a TB12 away from competing and he is very short term answer. I see Jimmy G as a lot more likely...

Brady is a machine. gotta look at his mindset.

He should have gone out last year, but we killed him. you think he is gonna hang it up now?

look at his face! it is like Frankenstein. he doesn't eat real food. He is on an obsessive journey to defy time.

maybe he finds his soul this off-season and does retire. that would be the best for him. but, I doubt it.
