In the last few months, many NFL players (Kyler, Deebo, AJ) have stopped following their teams or removed their team from social media account profiles, to indicate their unhappiness with contract renegotiations. In contrast, none of the Rams players (Stafford, AD, Kupp) have done so.

What puzzles me is whether scrubbing their social media helps with contract negotiations? What message is that sending and to whom? I assume that both negotiating parties know exactly where each other stands so it's not like the team doesn't know that the player is unhappy/frustrated. Even if it gets to a point where the player tells the team that they are requesting a trade, both negotiating parties know where they stand.

And if the player is unhappy enough to request a trade and want the whole world to know about it, why don't they just come out and say so to the media? What is the point of scrubbing their social media? Is it just to create a buzz? I might be too old to understand the point of all this drama. :roll2:

It does seem like they're taking a jab at their team. Former team or whatever its extremely me not we. It clearly shows a combative nature which one would think should only occur after all else failed, but who knows.
It does not bum me out that a 9er is pulling that crap. That bodes well for Los Ramos.

Tyreek Hill said nothing and got traded to/bankrolled by Miami. To my knowledge Davante was fairly quiet and got his way.

Scrubbing the social media brings in the real media and suggests you're not doing too good behind closed doors. So you want everybody to know you feel you're getting screwed. Using social media in that way makes you just like the people who use social media all day. Needy.

It’s certainly passive aggressive and I bet agents aren’t real fond of it. To me it says, I would like to remove you from my life in every aspect, and that’s probably not the best way to approach negotiations. Of course then when you reconnect all those accounts it makes you look like an emotional 12 year old girl. The problem with it is that you can do it without explanation or context and everyone is left to make up their own reasoning.
I almost feel sorry for the cards for getting themselves into this predicament(ok not really). One of the reasons Kingsbury took the Arizona job was because they had a high enough pick to get Murray, he recruited him in high school and he wanted him in the nfl. Kingsbury has hitched his wagon to Murray so he’s probably not getting traded but you never know, couple more flameouts and they both might be out.

As far as I'm concerned little good can come from posting on social media. This site is the closest to social media I get.

One of my father-in-law's habits before he retired was to browse applicant's social media if they had any. (He was a VP and you had to get his approval to get hired with his company.) Those poor fools who were bad mouthing their former employer would be handed a printout of some of their posts and asked to explain themselves before being shown the door.

Admittedly, I am old school.

Down at the DMV, not what they call it here, and failing to not put the “S” in licence, and don’t get me started with defence, just renewing it. Twenty people in line ahead of me, and I counted, fifteen were looking at their phones the whole time.

I just think that is weird.

Just an old man yelling at clouds here, I guess.

What got me is they were expressionless. Like robots.

Got plenty of friends, well versed on the news, ran a $55 million business, but I never had to be on the phone like that.

Like I said, weird.
