I worked for a private investigating firm when I was younger. I'd be placed in jobs at various facilities from wineries to bottling plants for months at a time investigating theft and drug use. Crazy to think I put myself at risk like that, but it's a cool story to tell.

It's true. I use to be in Jennifer Anniston's circle of friends for a brief while. Even broke her finger once slamming the ball playing "wallyball" (volleyball in a raquet ball court). This was before her "Friends" debut. She even came to the first show I ever played in Hollywood at what was then the Gaslight. We lost touch after her career took off. Guess I wasn't in the inner circle. :D

Music was the majority of my 90s life (as was Elvis', I think). Broke the Billboard Rock Top 40 for about two weeks back in '96.

Although my avatar is me surfing, I'm a pretty average surfer, if even that. :lol2: I just love it.

Alternative? That song rocks bro.

I do post little snippets on IG (mostly Van Halen!) occasionally. Still a rocker at heart. 🤘

@yepthatbrett

Same here.
Mesa Boogie 125w for larger rooms and small Fenders for more intimate settings. All tubes all the time. Tone baby..
In a power trio right now, guitar, keys and vocal 1. Taking time off though since there are no audiences. Missin it.
Never lose your chops. 🤙🎸

Long ago, in the 80's, I worked in a manufacturing plant and the plant manager hired an undercover investigator. It wasn't for theft as there was nothing being stolen. It was all for drugs. I was one of two shop stewards and of course, we knew nothing about it. The guy worked undercover for 3 months. Everybody was getting high lunch time in the parking lot. Pot. Liquor. Other things. Some went for rides, especially when we got an anonymous 'heads up' from one of the foreman. We kinda suspected one red haired new guy anyway.

Finally one day we get back from a ride and we're finishing a smoke when we see a couple of unmarked cars scream into the parking lot. They pick the car I was in and took 3 of us "downtown". No evidence other than the smell but they found a couple of roaches in the girl's ashtray. We thought we might get canned but the general manager had a meeting with us the next morning and expressed his disappointment but said he wasn't firing us.

About a week later the plant manager has a meeting with 12 other people and tells them the undercover PI's report indicates they were using drugs on company property. If they quit he won't give the info to the township narcotics department. If they don't quit, they're fired and he forwards the report. They ask me what to do and I told them it's on them but I wouldn't quit. No unemployment and it was a PI's report, not township agents. So he fires them and the union files grievances. We also get to see the report.

I haven't seen a report like that until the redacted Mueller report came out. There were so many names blacked out it was comical because we knew the names under that ink belonged to most of the best workers in the plant. The union fought it and six months later those who were fired got their jobs back with pay. The plant manager was fired by the general manager soon thereafter. But for almost the entire 6 months the parking lot was practically empty every lunch hour. :D

The plant manager was ex-military as was the undercover guy. And what was amusing in the end was the PM had this saying whenever there were issues he confronted with threats of termination. "I'm ex military, from B company. I be here when you got here and I be here when you're gone". He was wrong and when we heard he was getting canned somebody put a sign on his car that read, "you've been transferred to C company motherfucker. See ya later".

I ended up with his job. The union and company got along quite well. But that was back in the day when the company catered a Christmas Party and everybody, including the foreman took advantage of BYOB rules. It was really a great place to work. Great pay. Great benefits. Great times. Great life lessons.

Pa, got a story like that. We were moving stuff around for a well known medical supplier, they changed their name, let’s just sat it starts with M and ends with N. Minnesota based. Moving cytotoxins and all that. They had a theft problem, and their Ontario operation was run by the biggest asshole I have ever met in business, Jeff.

He, of course though it was on my end, despite the fact we had the same guys doing the same things for ten years. About 30 5 tons a day.

Turns out it wasn’t a theft problem on my end, it was in his, but he insisted in putting a narc into my warehouse at the start of his accusations. Guy was there for six months, and I got a driver on his payroll.

Good deal.

Had some fun with that.

You didn’t mess with my guys without going through me. I rode each one of their routes, and got to know each one. Cool guys. Each one had a story. Proud of them. Old hippies and guys that drove back where they came from.

Mostly good peeps in this world.

Let’s play, in spite of the loss of a genius, Little Richard. I am truly saddened by this.

He, along with Chuck Berry invented rock and roll.

1) I have driven a Ferrari.

2) I love oysters.

3) i broke 80 playing golf.

4) Mom and Dad both got their Grade Eights as formal education.

Wrong. It was funny, I was with a guy in Paris. One of my best friends. I said after I ordered the Belon oysters in a little cafe,“ Excuse me, we would like to be alone”.

Best tasting food ever.

80 is good. Most courses are 72 strokes over 18 holes. Most players cant break 100.
