I can't remember where I heard it,,, I believe I heard it on Fred Roggins radio show, prior to them moving to L.A.,,, that they can't move or sell the team once they moved to L.A.,,, there has to be a waiting period... So that could be a five year period... But it was a totally stupid move by Spano..... the money he has to pay the league to move to L.A 650mil.,,, he could of used the G4 loan and the 650mil at that time,,,,, plus San Diego would of approved to build next to the old stadium with a small amount to the tax payers..... So now Spano and the league is losing all that revenue for at least the next five years... So that lost money and what he owes the league to move to L.A.... will be about the same amount of value his team went up... so he really isn't making any more money... IMO....Spano is an idiot,,,, just was a greedy old man that wanted all of L.A. and SD to himself...… by DirtyFacedKid 6 years 7 months ago Total posts: 974 Joined: Oct 28 2016 San Clemente Veteran Re: The Chargers; It's worse than we thought POST #82 I feel bad for the team. No one I know even talks about them and I never see anyone with Charger gear on outside of a game. They're in the Playoff hunt and still nobody shows up to the game. I was sitting on the couch doing nothing yesterday and actually hit up StubHub to see if I could snag a ticket during the 1st Quarter. I could've seen the game for $9. Great seats were going for under $40. I don't think they belong here, don't get me wrong. But I can't help but feel for their situation. I don't understand the animosity for the Chargers. Especially now that we know with fairly good confidence that the Rams are the number 1 team. Something most of us knew would happen but still weren't sure until it did. It's good for this city to have 2 teams. More business for the city. Good thing. It's good for the Chargers to be here. Even if they are the Clippers (check how much the Clippers are worth). It's good for the Rams to have a tenant to pay for the stadium when we are not using it. Especially when they are firmly (very soon) the no.1 team and LA's team. It's good for the Spanos family. They instantly upped the valuation of their team and still have the option of selling and making a shit ton of profit. Their fanbase hasn't responded the way they hoped but with time they will build up their fanbase and perhaps a lot more people will come from San Diego to experience the new NFL Mecca in Inglewood rather than go to Carson. Like the Clippers maybe 10-20 yrs down the line they make their own stadium if they want to and can afford to.It's good for the NFL to have more exposure in the second largest market.More football in this City is a good thing for the city. I understand if someone was to make a point that the Rams would benefit from being the only team but I don't know how much of a benefit that actually is (Lakers haven't done badly have they) what I don't understand is the what benefit would the Rams fans have by running the Chargers out of town. Seems silly to me. Your season ticket price won't be any less (probably higher if its the only option in town). Your gameday experience won't change. I don't get it. If anything it gives you a "Clippers" to kick around.Rams fans should be thankful the Raiders didn't move here. by Flash 6 years 7 months ago Total posts: 1273 Joined: Jan 13 2016 Houston Pro Bowl The Chargers; It's worse than we thought POST #84 RamsFanSince82 liked this post Horny Mcbae wrote:I don't understand the animosity for the Chargers.
