Now, who did they cut to make room? Which FA's will they sign? Who goes to the practice squad?

Not to mention the Colts one week from today...

Im confused. The Rams reclaimed Spruce and put him on IR?

Why not just put him on IR instead of cutting him?

I don't know but I'd bet it's got something to do with money.

But here are some of the young players he developed in his career. High draft picks include Willie Roaf, Todd Wade (good RT for Miami), Sam Baker.

Crediting Boudreau with "developing" Willie Roaf is like crediting Jim Hanifan with "developing" Orlando Pace. Yeah, they were the OL coach when those two studs came into the NFL and they deserve credit for not screwing up a sure thing. But I'd bet if Alex Barron were the OL coach those two would have succeeded. They were considered future HOFers coming into the draft. The only unexpected thing that could have happened (other than the OL screwing them up) was if they were severely/frequently injured (like Sam Baker). Todd Wade was a 2nd round pick by Miami in 2000, their first pick in that draft so expectations were pretty high to begin with. When I think of a position coach "developing" a player, I think of somebody not highly touted coming into the league. London Fletcher. Kurt Warner. Leonard Little. Rich Saul. Charlie Joiner. Tom Brady. etc. Hilgenberg was a good OC and Boudreau deserves credit. Although a 4th round pick he was the 2nd OC taken in 1984. Boudreau has a good resume, has been a good OL coach. Maybe he's past his prime? Maybe he doesn't relate as well to today's players? Is it possible some offensive philosophies hinder and others help position coaches such as OL, WR, TE, etc?

He was waived, injured. Once he clears waivers, he reverts to the IR. They didn't have to claim him again.

And does that have an affect on money or not? I don't know.

Other teams have already started to announce some members of their practice squad, so we should hear something about the Rams practice squad soon.
