I figured Floyd would end up in Atlanta playing in a scheme he knows with a HC he knows.

Bosa ends up in Buff which is not surprising. He' a shadow of his Charger self now days. He no longer dominates and hasn't for a while. He's still good but is more of a run stopper and less of the pass rushing threat. He makes sense if he is used in an early down rotational role which his contract suggests. Just a bridge until they draft someone. His money is basically back loaded in void years with the majority as signing bonus.

Bosa reflects the Niner commitment to getting younger and cheaper via the draft, i.e. the same way the Rams are. It's why I'm not convinced they are going to pay Brock Purdy big money. He's their best bargaining chip in a draft trade. Get a first round or even a high second round pick and they get their QB and RB this year.

Anybody who truly believes SF will get a first or second round pick for Purdy.....a system QB.....is delussional.

There are a lot of QB needy teams. I didn't say it would be a first round pick. I doubt they would pass on a high second round pick. All I'm thinking is that the Niners look like a team that would pick a QB this year and that probably would be in the first round so they could package him with their first and move up. Or let him play out his rookie contract as a bridge.

Isn't that a catch-22? If he's 'all that good' pay him. Why get rid of the QB who did well in your system for an unproven commodity? Particularly in this draft when there really isn't a stud? And if Purdy isn't really that good, why would anybody give up 'a first or second' for him? My guess is SF will pay him.
