He probably wasn't trying to throw it into the ground. Jimmy G. does not have the strongest arm...

And the route was well covered. Bad play call, IMO.

Yes it was well covered but the throw made had a zero chance of resulting in a touchdown and therefore a win. An interception meant nothing so it seems to me that throwing the ball into the endzone anywhere near a Ram jersey would have made more sense.

Yes. And had that pass been completed, there was still 10-15 seconds left. Enough to spike it and get two shots from the 3.

I will only add one more thought, that when they showed the montage of Steve Largent during the broadcast I was reminded of the time early after realignment, that Seattle was so desperate to be relevant that they let Jerry Rice wear #80 for them even though it had been retired...

I kinda thought Forbes was just below average overall. He was alright in pass coverage. DK should have caught that touchdown on him on the sideline. Also, his tackling was WEAK... I kept seeing him just basically bouncing off the ball carrier. I don't think he had a solid solo tackle the whole game...

I rewatched the game tape.

Forbes played in 52 snaps

The Hags didn't throw to his side unless it was Metcalf.

I thought he played pretty well:

His stats:

4/tackles, 1/ass tackle, 1/PD

Does that count as 2 or any bonus points? 8-)

Dare wrote:Considering Jimmy was playing with a makeshift OL and backups he played about as well as could be expected. I was happy to see that the depth looks above average when you consider they were playing against a decent team with a winning record playing all their starters. This makeshift OL gave up 3 sacks I believe when the starters hadn't given up a sack in four games. That accounted for the short clock in Jimmy's head.

This had to be the best game I've seen from Rivers. But they have to hope Corum can play against the Vikings.

It's obvious that Noteboom is strictly a LT. He looked rusty as he hasn't played the position all year but he held his own in this game. It was also clear that McMahon needs another year as a center. The difference between J. Jackson and Dotson at RG was also obvious. It wouldn't surprise me if Jackson isn't released at the end of the season.

The major thing I took away from this game was that Stafford's lack of mobility really stands out. Whether it's Jimmy or someone else I think the Ram offense can't continue to evolve with a physically limited QB1.

I also feel that Robinson and Atwell will be gone next year and they will be replaced with Whittington and Smith. I think Tyler Johnson will make the Rams 5 deep at WR.

I can see Higbee playing one more year along with Davis Allen and Parkinson and Long being released. This means they will probably draft a TE on the third day.

From a roster analysis perspective this was a good game to see where the Rams are. As with the last two drafts I expect this draft to be focused on upgrading CB and TE and possibly QB even if they are drafting a long term QB2. They had the right idea with Bennett but poor predraft evaluation in his case. IMO Wolford was better than Bennett is likely ever to be.

The "backup" o-line actually played faired well except for McMahon at center, he allowed 6 pressures and had a 49.5 pff run grade.

Jonah Jackson had the highest overall PPF grade of 91.8 with a 91.6 run blocking grade. He gave up 2 pressures in pass pro. It will interesting to see what they end up doing with Jonah he is talented guard, maybe bring back and see if he can win the center position.
