Canuck: Never figured you to be a Transportation Manager, but thinking it over makes a lot of sense. I spent 25 years in Transportation Management for BOC/Linde (industrial gases) until they moved my gig to California ten years ago and I decided not to move there.

PARAM wrote:"Getting 'a' draft pick wrong"? Max you didn't get a draft pick wrong, you got the whole freaking draft wrong!!! You were upset they took Everett over Lamp, said nothing about Kupp and JJ and lambasted this regime as 'most likely to be drafting #1 the following year'. True Everett didn't pan out like they expected or they wouldn't have let him get away but he had 86 receptions and 7 TD the first three years while Lamp was trying to stay out of the tub. Unsuccessfully I might add.

As far as not having anything of value to say about the Rams, it's probably because you don't make enough of those "you heard it hear first" statements for me to piggy back on.

Hey, maybe I’m wrong again. Maybe you can find a post where I said, “thanks PA for that great Rams insight, I didn’t know that.” Good luck.

Max, that's impossible. I know there's nothing I can say that you don't already know. You know it all. You're the smartest guy in the room. Period. You heard it here first.

A nice place to retire is Murrells Inlet, SC. Historical. Close to Myrtle Beach. I have 3 cousins who retired there. The downside is it's 3 feet above sea level but being right on the sea will do that.

Thx. Never heard of Murrells Inlet. Not a big fan of Myrtle Beach, so probably not for me. Thanks anyway. I’m liking Bluffton a lot so far. Close to Hilton Head and Savannah. Very pretty town. I’m done with the New England snow and taxes.

Demoff isn't really a football guy but Snead is very good IMO.

And Demoff is good at what he does.

Here's what you wrote after watching All Or Nothing:

One is that Demoff is a poor mans John Shaw. What a phony sleaze bag.

Snead is not a GM, he's a number 2 guy. He needs someone else to make the important decisions. That was either Fisher or Demoff. Sad to watch him. Snead looks like a 2nd grader sitting in a 5th grader's classroom.

Still your take?

Some thoughts:

For AvengerRam...
You already had Canada labelled as a Sanka-less nation, because my posts were overly hyper.....maybe by caffeine you opined.....so given that, sure, you can picture me as
Bob or Doug McKenzie....or even Budweiser's Spuds McKenzie. Whatever helps you extract my true message! You DO know that we no longer live in igloos up here, eh!! ;) :lol2:

For My Knowledgeable Military Historian friend in Kansas...
Yeah, "transportation & logistics"....
my first job after my Navy Service was as Canadian Pacific Sales Rep in Vancouver. Was good for a coupla years, but my big promotion was gonna be to Head Office in Montreal.....and I had seen enough of the French Canadian quota system in the military, so I quit and had some management stints with other big corporations....but got sick of all the politics/in-fighting.
So the last 20+ years I have toiled ostensibly as a "VP Sales" for two family-owned trucking companies, except my job finds me far far from "sales" most times.

When people ask me what I do for a living, I tell them that my job resembles what the Robert Duvall character "Tom Hagen" did for the Corleone Family! ;) :arrow2: :shock2:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

For max:
With respect to the old Thomas Aquinas line: "The mark of the Free Mind, is the ability to make distinctions."
So, um, regarding your reference to "mindless insults".....
Max...are you sure you want to open with THAT???!!
Because to me, PA's and Elvis are actually launching "thoughtful insults"!!! ;) :arrow2: :lol2:
Oh, and seriously, if you wanna talk "high taxes" your CT guys are amateurs to our politburo types up here in Canuckistan (Pat Buchanan's term for Canada ;) ) where we've had Government run Health Care since the 1950's.....hence gasoline is $1.50 per litre (that's like $4.50 USD per gallon equivalent, and Alberta has the second biggest oil reserves on the Planet!!!), and a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka is over 20 bucks!!! :shock2: In the end, somebody has to pay for all of that "Free Healthcare" eh!!! :? :arrow2: :x

We got more annual taxes to pay in Canada than Jared Goff had 2019 & 2020 turnovers. :evil2:
Want to blow-up your cranium sometime? Just google "Canadian GST calculations for small businesses"!!
Sincerely though max...good luck finding your ideal spot in South Carolina. Mrs. Canuck is pushing me to moving our bivouac area to smaller dimensions.....but I am NOT ready yet!

For Pennsylvania:
Not to sound too gushy, but paraphrasing the Great Michael Caine's parting line (Colonel Steiner) to his men who are about to get slaughtered in the 1977 movie, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED....
"It has been an honor and a privilege to have debated Rams football with you!" 8-)

Seriously though, thank God McSnead got rid of Kromer and Goff eh!!
Now we even agree that Los Ramos should draft Big Fuglies for the OL "early & often" next month eh!!! Hell, you are now reduced to only nitpicking my math errors!!! ;) :arrow2: :lol2:

For Elvis:
Thank you for having the dedication, the effort, and the time, to run this fantastic platform for smart Rams fans to exchange their views!
Seriously.....THANK YOU ELVIS!!! :idea2: :!2: :arrow2: 8-)

My take is similar. Demoff lies to fans. He is a sleeze bag. He lied about the move to LA, he lied about the uniforms. But he is good at his primary job. Protect Kroenke. He also is good with numbers, but I agree with you that he knows nothing about football.

Snead is a wildman. He has done well drafting without first round picks. But I fear that it will catch up with him. And yes, he is not a true GM. He’s more of a glorified personnel manager. He takes his direction from McVay and then relies of Demoff and Pastoors to manage the money and contracts. He threw Goff under the bus in his presser. Why? Because he was parroting McVay.

Several great movie roles mentioned above. Tom Hayden type people are fantastic in logistics. The Eagle Has Landed a favorite movie. Suspect that you also appreciate: Kelly's Heroes, The Wild Bunch, Long Riders, Tinker-Tailor-Soldier-Spy, James Coburn in the Iron Cross, A Bridge Too Far, Big Jake, The Magnificent Seven etc.

Silent Stan doesn't talk to the media so somebody had to lie in his stead. It was Demoff's job. I don't see a problem with Demoff. He's a great cap guy and he has to be the voice of Kroenke. Lied about the uniforms? The uniforms are awesome. They're "modern" and not the traditional that some fans wanted. So what? I guess some fans still prefer rotary phones and floppy discs! I'm also not of the opinion the fans "need" to know everything. The guy deserves more credit for taking the bullets from some fans than the vitriol over his role. JMHO.
