Story line from a Halloween tale....
A city snags a team from another city by very unusual and fortunate circumstances and gloats about it. States they deserved said team more than the previous location for no reason at all.
Then a couple crappy decades later, that other city somehow gets it's team back and the gloaters cry foul and sue for exactly what they gloated about for themselves.
This whole thing is such a load of crap.
StL is behaving as stinky as they come and are trying to burn down the entity they coveted, and lost by their own greed and mismanagement.
Blasphemy.

I hope ESK isn't doing what has been alleged.

Kind of like a an emotionally immature jilted lover.

Who freaking cares? Every team has some kind of lawsuit against them. Every Large company does as well. This does not make ONE of my news feeds. You have to dig deep to find anything about this tiresome subject.

I agree with Elvis, fwiw. Try not to make things personal.

Speaking just for myself, I appreciate this thread and the fact that it keeps interested Rams fans updated on this obscure side bit of Rams history.

Besides the fact the Rams had a long history in L.A. and a substantial built in fan base already there, they also had an owner willing to spend a shit ton of money on it.

No one else fit the bill and so far i think it's been a pretty big success...

The move was no worse for St. Louis fans than when the Cards moved to Phoenix, probably less so since the Cards were more St. Louis than the Rams.

Many teams have left cities and crushed their fan base, Colts, Browns, Raiders, Chargers, Oilers, and Rams, just in one league. So yeah, it hurts for the fans, but this case is more about a money grab by a depressed city than a hurt fan base.

So I feel bad for the fans in St. Louis, but not for the city making the money grab.

Sounds like the indemnification was poorly written/in a rush the morning of the vote and the line of issue says Kroenke is responsible for "all legal costs". It was kind of boilerplate and could have been used if Carson was approved. The document wasn't in place beforehand and didn't get looked at by non-rushed legal experts.

Kroenke feels that's just the fees for lawyers he's responsible for and that he's not on the hook for any settlements or awards by the courts. The owners see it as everything.

Also: Jerry is lying with the "billions" offer. The only thing the Rams group has offered is in the 8 digit range.

Isn't this interesting?

But in 2019, an ESPN report on the Rams-Chargers marriage detailed that discovery in the lawsuit had turned up an email from an official affiliated with the competing Carson proposal that outlined to St. Louis authorities all the ways the Rams seemed to be in violation of the league's relocation policy, providing a blueprint for the city of St. Louis' lawsuit.

Who could that be?

Hmmmmm. Let's see, the NFL is embroiled in a relocation lawsuit. The Raiders lost out on a move to L.A.. An official "affiliated with the Carson Project" e-mailed someone in St. Louis detailing a blueprint for a lawsuit. E-mails from Jon Gruden, head coach of the Raiders, surface a couple of years later.

Too far fetched?

Not sure why Davis would be pissed. His Las Vegas deal is miles better than anything he could have gotten in Carson. Clark County gave him $800 million. In Carson he'd be leveraged to his eyeballs.

Then again who knows what that bowl haircut, 20 year old minivan driving, PF Changs eating dude thinks?

St. Louis radio needs to stop bringing Mike Florio on. Dude is near non-stop with his banging of the expansion team to St. Louis drum. It's annoying.

As much as I enjoyed the ESPN article, I'm still assuming getting nothing in the end.

EDIT: the St. Louis group filed new paperwork. Sealed, but could be related to the league meetings.
