It hurts when you lose one of your own but it had to happen.

We did upgrade though. ARob is better then Woods imo.

Change in the NFL is not only inevitable, it's necessary. Now with Whit, Woods and Hekker gone the only guys left from the 2017 team are Havenstein, Higbee, Kupp and AD. Add Noteboom, Allen and Travin Howard from the 2018 team. Retained 7 of 53 over 5 years.

2 Superbowls = why complain?

The way Jourdan tells it the Rams thought they were gonna get Von back but when that didn't happen, they had money to sign Robinson which made Woods expendable. Plus she said Woods isn't as good of a scheme fit now as he was with Goff.

I'm bummed but also excited to see Robinson next year...

Possibly, but I think that remains to be seen. I don't think that's guaranteed.

Woods did everything in this offense, and was a great fit with the team. You could say that he played better than his resume. And to date, you can't say that about Robinson. Playing with Stafford, he would project to be much improved. But he's got to prove it first.

Devastating.
I really hope Robinson can integrate into the offense and do the little things that Robert Woods did..

We are going to miss Woods from a fan standpoint. The professional swiss army knife. But I think Robinson will do just fine.

The 4 years with Goff, Woods and Kupp were mirror images of each other. Practically the same guy?

Kupp 288 rec., 3570 yds, 24 TDs
Woods 322 rec., 4070 yds, 19 TDs

Of course Kupp missed 8 games in 2018. But they were a well integrated duo. Cooks, Watkins and JR were the #3 guys and now Jefferson is that guy. Higbee was our #2 receiver this year with 61 catches giving him 223 under McVay for 2402 yds and 16 TDs. I expect Higbee to continue producing under Stafford. The big question now is....are they going to sign OBJ? That would make missing Woods a little easier to take.

Kupp, Robinson, Jefferson and OBJ, then those other guys (Harris, Tutu and Skowronek). If they don't sign OBJ, I gotta believe they're going to sign somebody else and I think they definitely take a WR in the draft, regardless.

McSNEAD PULL OFF A RARE NFL TRADE WIN-WIN-WIN (US-TN-ROBERT WOODS)

Robert Woods was one of my favorite Rams. I loved to hear Troy Aikman, sometime during every Ram game he broadcast, inevitably make reference to "Robert Woods being the complete NFL WR....disciplined route running, great hands, selfless blocker, excellent in running jet-sweeps, etc etc"
....so I am sorry to see him go to the Titans, like alot of guys are.

BUT...
Robert Woods got alot outa his time in LA too, let's remember. :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:
Robert Woods was buried in a lacklustre Offense in Buffalo as "a disappointing USC 2nd Rounder." In fact, numerous talking heads mocked McSnead for bringing UFA Robert Woods to LA at all, back in 2017. Were the talking heads right??? NOPE!! :oops2:

Well, under McVay's system, Woods was not only able to flaunt his superior WR skills to the whole NFL these past 5 seasons.....BUT,
Woods was also paid very well by Los Ramos, played in a great culture and got to play in SBLIII, and got a SBLVI Ring. Not too shabby a deal for Mr. Woods I would say.....plus he was back playing in his SoCal hometown, near friends & family. 8-)

Now, coming forward to today...
For many NFL WRs, hitting 30 years of age....plus coming off a major ACL repair & rehab....could be signaling the end of that NFL WR career. I hope that it doesn't for Woods, and that he plays well into his remaining contractual seasons which takes him to the end of the 2025 season.

Per J.Rodrique, Los Ramos worked with Woods to get him traded to his most desired NFL landing spot for 2022, and it turned out to be TN Titans (who also had the cheapest offer of the 2023 Sixth Round Pick.....the bastids!!! :x ).

So to me, it's not like the Rams just used up Robert Woods these past 5 seasons like some mercenary to be exploited & then discarded!!
NO, no....Los Ramos brought Woods home to LA, let him shine his talents to the NFL world, paid him handsomely, got him onto important numerous Post Season Playoff Stages, including SBs....and got him a SB Ring. Then we ushered him out to his preferred NFL destination, where he can shine again.

The business side of this Woods Trade for Los Ramos was important....Salary Cap savings-wise:
Season: Ram Cap Savings
2022: $7.1 Mil Cap Savings (per $15.7 Salary-$8.6 Cap Hit = $7.1 Savings)
2023: $13.7 Mil Cap Savings
2024: $15.7 Mil Cap Savings
2025: $17.5 Mil Cap Savings
TOTAL: $54 Million Ram Cap Savings By Trading Robert Woods for a 6th Rounder :o :arrow2: :shock2:

Hopefully Allen Robinson II is durable and hones his craft even further with Stafford throwing to him and Cooper Kupp mentoring him! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

In the end, emotionally losing a good soldier like Woods hurts....
but it was a smart business move by Los Ramos....and McSnead did well for Woods by having him land on a Playoff Team in Tennessee (2021 AFC #1 SEED) with good coaches and a smart braintrust. :idea2: :arrow2: 8-)

IMHO: A RARE WIN-WIN-WIN!!! :idea2:

I agree 100% with Kansas.....nice to know McSnead made efforts (& maybe accepted less draft treasure) to find an appreciated Ram player a comfortable new situation.

No legal document nor contract forced McSnead to do that. :idea2:
That's just our Franchise's braintrust being fair and classy bosses IMO. 8-)
I would imagine that those kind of stories get around amongst NFL players, eh.

AND, it doesn't hurt that he went to an AFC team either!
I thought the Vikes would have wanted him to complete their very strong receiver corp--especially since they are going to run the Rams' system this year.
