Week 1 Impressions:

Walking up to the 400 Level from the 300s was a game changer. Not only can you walk all the way around the stadium, but that's where all the accessible cocktail bars are for us peasants. I never had more than 2 people in front of me to order drinks at any time - including half time.

At Olvera Street(s) they had a queue going ala Best Buy. Wait in one line for the next available POS station out of several. Much more efficient. I waited about 3 minutes. I had the Chicken Tinga Burrito. Honestly, it was pretty good for stadium food. I ate the whole thing and it was substantial.

Staffing at all concessions seemed to have been a non-issue. Glad to see that.

I'm gonna have to rethink the whole rideshare thing. It took 40 minutes to connect with an Uber/Lyft driver after walking about a half mile away from the area. I live 6 miles away and my Uber home was $80. My driver said the wait times in the rideshare areas were over an hour. The friend who came with me parked at the Forum. He paid $75 and said it was relatively easy getting out of the area.

WiFi: I came to find that texting media was next to impossible. However, Instagram worked like a charm. I'll be DMing peeps moving forward.

Addendum: The empty seats in the $100K sections were embarrassing. I get that they have lots of viewing options with the clubs and so forth, but gaping holes in an otherwise full-capacity stadium like that is just not a good look.

Welcome to the poor side of town.

We got there really early, a little before the stadium opened, sat in our seats and watched the afternoon games. It was great, cool, comfortable, games on the Infinity screen. We did the lap around the 400 level, a couple food areas were closed, some more crowded than others but many not crowded at all. Looked like beer and alcohol was easy to get too. Even getting out of the brown lot and driving home wasn't bad at all.

The Rams switched to their pregame stuff an hour before kickoff so sports bar mode on the Infinity ended at that point which means watching the morning games before a regular afternoon game isn't going to work out so well.

They did that opening ceremony thing with Rich Eisen which was kind of corny but also moving at times. I had a flashback to the first game against Dallas at the Coliseum and then thought, i hope they don't return the opening kick for a TD and the Bears darn near did...

- Never tailgated before so wanted to try. Got on the train early and from my house to the stadium took about 55 minutes! And that was with me not taking the carpool lane to the station on the 605. Lesson learned. But we left at 2:15 so very early. No traffic for the shuttles to get to the stadium.
- Tail gate area is quite a walk from the Metro drop off. Wife and I packed a couple of beers and drank them walking around. It was awesome! Why have I not done this sooner? The tail gate area was like a Ram street fair! DJs, food, one guy even had a full band. I even bumped into our hold season ticket members at the Coliseum. Was looking for food and we brought plenty of cash but really did know how to approach people and didn't want to be rude. Did get a beer out of a guy that refused to take my money. Long story short, if I have time, I really want to do this again!

- I did learn not to take the South gate close to the game as it is crowded. This was about an hour prior to kickoff and wasnt bad but for future scouting, we walked to our normal gate and found the way without issue. Actually, they removed some fencing that was up at the Raider game. Made the walk much better. Not sure why they had it up. Obviously they are still experimenting with crowd control. Hope everyone continues to be patient.

- It certainly was Rams House last night. I was expecting a lot of Bears fans but would say it was about what you would expect from just about any other city. You can see from the pics the make up.
- Scarf give-a-way was actually very cool. I was not thrilled with a scarf but they did a real nice job with the date, teams, different on both sides, and quality.
- I grabbed a beer and food with the Mrs about 40 minutes prior to kickoff and had no real line. It looked like there was one and we got in and the attendant told us to go around to another side where there was none. I did notice many places are still not opened though. 400/500 lvl
-Place was packed. I used the restroom a few times and the line was huge at halftime but went FAST! Bathrooms were clean and they even had an attendant in it directing people around so it worked fine.

- Leaving was a different story this time. Since the game was basically over with 6 or so minutes to go, the first wave of busses back to the metro were gone when we got there. We had maybe 2 bus loads of people in front of us but had to wait 45 minutes for them to return and even though they had a lot of fencing and people, it was very confusing on where we should stand and who gets to go in what bus. Was getting heating for some people. Again, another area to work on. In the future, if we don't get the first wave, Ill probably just walk to the station which I guess is about a 25 minute walk. Can't if I have my kids with me though.
- Lastly, when we did get to the station, we had to wait 30 minutes for the train which is crazy! I have never had to wait that long. Normally they come every 8 minutes or so. Not sure what was going on but it all compounded.

Overall I had a great time!

I'm glad it's a great experience for Ram fans. Now, we just have to hear them get a little louder. It seemed loud on TV but not the din from the Eddy during TGSOT days. Expected I guess. I'm sure it will get louder as the season goes on and the games become more important/crucial. Go Rams fans!!!!

Sorry we missed you guys. Bucs game for sure!!!! So we did the same thing, went up too the 400 level for the bars and too have a look see. Going up the escalator they checked our tickets. The gal was puzzled as to why we were going up there seeing we had tickets on the level we were leaving. We told her there were no bars on our level around us. She hesitated but let us go. Funny thing is the massive stairs right next to the escalator leading up to the 400 level weren't ticket checked... :lol2:

When we went back down as I walked around low and behold did I not find both a Bar and a kiosk that sold my canned Modelo's and Pacifico's! Right behind our section... :lol2: Don't know how the hell we could've missed them at the 2 preseason games. Maybe it was blocked off?? Anyways... we're set now for beverages in the future without having to go up to 400 if we don't want to.

We sold our Pink lot pass because of the hard time we had getting into the lot and because the walk was just too long for the Mrs. This time we had a ride set up too and from. It was definitely the way to go. from the time we got off the 110 at Manchester till we were dropped off on the SE corner of the Forum (like a 2 min walk to our entry gate) was about 10-15 mins. Leaving the game we walked down Kareem to Manchester and our ride had no problem getting us. A complete 180 from the horrific Pink lot fiasco of the Raiders game.

Overall a MUCH better gameday experience than the 2 preseason games!!

So excited! How did you set up the ride to and from - on Uber or by private car? I will be at a hotel by LAX and trying to figure out the easiest way to and from.

My seats are Lower End Zone 123. Is that the same side?
