I had forgotten who the Titans D coordinator was in Superbowl 34.

That 5 year stretch was something. Even with the 7-9 season squeezed in there, Fisher was 56-24 in that run. Winning at a 70% clip

What's mind numbing is that outside of that run, he has only 2 winning seasons in 17 years and a record of 117-139-1 (45% WP)

Its incredible that this guy has been able to stay employed this long

It's true that a lot of the success that Fisher had came with Mike Heimerdinger. And though I never followed the Titans much, I always considered Heimerdinger a very unimaginative OC. In no way dynamic. Give the ball to Eddie. Throw something safe on 3rd and long. Those Titans teams were always more aggressive on the defensive side of the ball.

Fisher was very close to Heimerdinger. I remember him being very emotional and broken up when Heimerdinger passed away.

This subject is always littered with subjectivity. My emotions want him gone yesterday. Fortunately I can also turn off the emotions (I think) and put thought on the best play.

As the person responsible about this kind of change, I need to have a viable replacement in consideration. Of course there needs to be contingencies in case that option doesn't play out. And if there are no adequate contingencies, I stay with the status quo with this team until all the needs become available.

Believe me when I say, conversations are taking place right now. Some of them are with Fisher. He too is being considered as Head Coach next year. I voted Fisher is extended and will be here next year. Fisher has many more excellent coaching prospects now being in Los Angeles than St Louis. Next year expect an established OC (maybe Turner) and two or three big free agent signings. Since we don't have a first round pick this next year, we will get our first round through free agency.

We need patience right now Ramily. We will have a winning team in Inglewood. Players love Hollywood.

Les Steckel was the OC during the SB run.
Dinger returned to the Titans in 2008 and the offense didn't seem to pick up
I remember when Dinger came to NY, they were certain he was going to save the franchise. In fact, it seems eerily similar to what's going in in LA.
Edwards was forced to get rid of Paul Hackett, and they brought in Dinger who thought he was the heir apparent HC. He didn't get the job and at first Mangini was going to keep him before giving the job to Schotty

This continues to be ridiculous. There's no defending Fisher's lack of results, not to mention justifying his bloated salary. There are examples of coaches turning things around in far less time all over the place.

Look at Dirk Koetter in Tampa Bay. That team has gone 4-12, 7-9, 4-12, 2-14, 6-10 the past 5 years but he's got them (actually) competitive and with a winning record as a first time HC in his first year as a HC.

Fisher just isn't any good.
