Jake saying E Jones + a 6th for a 5th in 2026. Makes zero sense. Has to be more going on than we know with Jones.

They basically gave him away. A late one round upgrade? Wouldn’t they potentially get an higher compensation pick a year later?

Either they see him as a potential clubhouse cancer in his contract year or they believe his knee is about to give out.

Listening to McVay the other day he did seemed snarky when he said "We never said he asked for a trade".

Not saying I disagree but if the Rams sign anyone they may not get a comp pick for him.

Just cant get much draft value in trades. IMO the Rams must have concerns about his knee making it through a season. Be interesting how the physical goes...

Man… I really hate the way that we “do right by the player” in essentially giving them away for nothing in this type of scenarios…

I get it but man it’s crappy. It’s also not like we have great depth behind him for this season. :cry2:

Since it seems the Rams would have gladly let him play out his final year I'm guessing Jones refused to play without an extension. My question is, are the Titans giving him an extension before he sets foot on the field?

BrooklynRam74 wrote:Probably Speights, with a confluence of heady Safeties around. Look, E.J. is a good player, but wouldn't be surprised if Rams have "Todd Gurley" vibes about his knee.

I like everything I’ve seen from Speights….as a STer. No indication whatsoever he can fill even one of EJ’s roles. Rams have a long track record of never being able to make starters of their LB drafts and finally giving up. Jones was an exception. This is the worst LB unit in the NFL but I won’t be the lightening rod on this one. You folks figure it out. 😂

Life is not kind to Rams rookies on the final year of their contract: Akers, VJ, now Jones.

The only way this makes sense is Jones doesn't figure in the defense the way they thought he would.

I'm guessing it's Kam Curl's defense now but we'll see soon enough...

As much as I love Jones as person, a leader and a player, his added size has made him a liability in pass defense and misses his share of tackles as well. I do think the knee will be an issue going forward. They must also have confidence in someone else that they can do the same job or better.

Look at the players the Rams have traded not named Ramsey, most arent playing in the league at this point.
