I was pizzed at Demoff, Pastoors and Snead for that too early, premature, overly generous Goff Contract extension that included a (then) NFL Record $110 Million Guarantee!!! :x
Very pizzed!!! :evil2:

BUT....I appreciate that the Rams braintrust DO ADMIT THEIR MISTAKES, eh! :idea2: Cannot take that away from them.....they DO own up when they fook up! 8-)
+++++++++++++++++++++

Amid all the Playoff furor, Ram Coach abductions, Goff trade, etc etc etc....one Brandin Cooks had himself a damm nice receiving season down at that disfunctional team, the Texans.

15 GP....81 Rec...1150 yds...14.2 YPC ....6 TDs :shock2: :arrow2: 8-)

A tad more productive than say...cough...cough....Van Jefferson, no?? :shock2:
How many million Kroenke dollars did that WR swap cost Uncle Stan I wonder?? :?

It was all calculated risk.
If Goff regained his 2017/2018 form, that contract looks great as market value continues to drive upwards. You can argue it was done early but there were QB getting signed and his contract was basically slotted for that time. What if we didn't sign him and he had back to back pro-bowl level seasons? How much would his market value be now? It was a gamble that failed and the Rams had the balls to correct the mistake to make us better.
If Gurley's knee doesn't crap out, would it have been worth it? No way to know.
The only one I wasn't a huge fan of was the Cooks deal because he already had a concussion history.

The Rams do things different and sometimes against the conventional wisdom of what other s may do. Looking at the time between Martz and Fisher. I'm glad we do things different now

Yeah, he was awful in Green Bay. If Goff hadn't allowed the Packers to score on their first 5 possessions of the game, and allowed the Packers offense to control the clock the way he did, it might have been a different game. And he could have pressured Rodgers a little bit, that might have helped, too.

Oh, and in a similar vein, I thought it was awful the way Aaron Rodgers didn't win the Tampa Bay game. He had multiple chances in the 4th quarter and couldn't do it. Rodgers sucks in playoff games. Some MVP. I'm glad we didn't trade for that slacker.

He didn't get us into the postseason last year.

Yeah, it was terrible the way Goff missed that 44 yard field goal in Seattle last year. If not for Goff the Leg missing that field goal, playoffs.
I'm hoping like hell the oddsmakers are right and we're back in the Superbowl in 12 months.

Me, too. Go Rams!

Yeah, for sure.

But that fake would have succeeded if McQuaide gets out faster and makes his block. His guy forced Nick Scott back inside where the pursuit got him. Hell by the looks of that end zone shot, if McQuaide makes that block the only guy Scott needs to beat for a TD is the PR. Didn't we bring in a couple of new long snappers? 8-)

It’s a harsh cruel league. If you’re looking for nice guys, try the peace corps.

I want to win. I’m tired of watching guys like Belichick and Parcells win multiple SBs and saying how nasty they are, and then hearing fans defend them and call them winners.

McVay is driven to win. And I love it. Before he came to the Rams, I watched losing teams for 23 out of 27 freaking years. McVay has made the Rams winners. I’m all in on the McVay train.

You guys want to criticize him cause he does things that you think make him a mean guy or an asshole, knock yourself out. I’m sticking with a winner. And I appreciate what’s he’s done for my team. So fuck Fassell, and anyone else that McVay says has to go in order for the Rams to win.

Good take Max. I think anybody who's been a Ram fan from 1990 on appreciates the turnaround McVay performed. It's great to be relevant. But relevancy only feeds the beast so long. At some point you gotta win a Superbowl or two. And I'm with you, I don't care how he does it or who he disses in the process. But until he wins a Superbowl, he's just a head coach with a winning record, not a winner........like Parcells and Belichick or Andy Reid. I always loved watching Marty's teams until the postseason started.

According to Rich Hammond (i think) Fassel wanted to move on. The Rams would've been happy to keep him around.

So i'm not sure about the premise of that example...
