Would you sign Colin Kaepernick?

Yes, if the coaching staff believed him to be the best available option to back-up Jared Goff.

Yes. It would make an important statement, even if his skill level is questionable at this point.

No. Even if he is arguably the best option, the attention/distraction he'd bring to the team would override the benefit.

No. Even if he is arguably the best option, I don't like him or his approach, and would not want him on my team.

No. I don't care about his politics or persona. I simply don't believe a QB who has been idle for years could succeed.

I still don't believe Kap wants to play anymore. The attempts at coming back just keep him in the news. And relevant. He doesn't need a football job. He's set up for life in his other endeavors with the social justice platform.

Not sure where this should go. Seems like an appropriate thread. NFL being hypocrites:

Old video but Wiley gives a player's perspective on Kaepernick. Nice recap of how Kaepernick chose to torpedo multiple opportunities then claimed he was blackballed. I also completely forgot about he and Reid "settling" with the league on a collusion case.

Poor Colon Krapernick: Raised by a white family who asked him to carry the garbage to the curb one day. This """social injustice""" has worked out pretty good for him.

This is why I don't believe he wants to play. He torpedoed the opportunities he did have. He had a workout planned. The NFL had it set up with him. Then he claims he doesn't trust them and switches the location without telling them soon enough in advance. No one shows up. He claims he's being blackballed.

Kinda obvious if you ask me. He doesn't need NFL money. He'll make more in the long haul with his platform. And he won't be tearing up his body to do it. He's still relevant today. Just not as a football player.

It was even worse than that as the NFL went out of it's way to set up an in-season, private workout all for Kaepernick. But he twisted that into claiming that since the NFL set it up it was somehow going to work against him. At the last minute, he moved the workout to a relatively remote high school an hour away. All the scouts and reps from the NFL that came to see him were caught off guard and only 8 or so showed up to the new location.

Very obvious that Kaepernick torpedoed the opportunity.

Kapernick is no longer good enough to help a team. And the circus that would follow him would be a distraction more than anything. I don't see him playing football anymore. And I still think he doesn't want to.
