I noticed the commentators looked like a Japanese monster movie where the lips didn't line up with the words often.

Didnt get a chance to use Sunday Ticket this wnkd as my son's game was in the morning so let him use it all day. I did set up another TV screen and had redzone on it all day.

The US Open couldn't spur a change, but the possibility of losing MNF sure as hell did.

So this time was not different...

NFL says Sunday Ticket has more subscribers on YouTube this year than DirecTV last year
By Michael David Smith
Published September 12, 2023

After three decades on DirecTV, the NFL Sunday Ticket subscription package moved to YouTube this season. And the league says the results are already impressive.

The NFL said today that the Sunday Ticket package has more subscribers already this year on YouTube than it had on DirecTV last year.

Fans generally seemed pleased with the experience of watching Sunday Ticket on YouTube on Sunday. Few viewers reported technical difficulties and the streams provided good picture quality and minimal lag time. (Some viewers reported more lag time watching games on their local affiliates via cable TV than watching Sunday Ticket games on YouTube TV.)

YouTube is reportedly paying the NFL $2 billion a year for Sunday Ticket. Whether that turns out to be a profitable investment for the tech giant remains to be seen, but in the early going it seems to be a successful partnership.

The streaming links provided in another thread here (or earlier in this 1) worked great.

Since it was week 1, I watched the Rams' game in real time (well, as close to real time as streaming is), and I had no problems with YouTube Sunday Ticket.

But, afterwards, I started the game again from the YouTube DVR recording. And as expected, it's not great for fast-forwarding. DirecTV's DVR is way better. But we knew that. No surprise there.

There's also a "key plays" replay version of the recorded game. And that works fine, but it's similar to watching highlights. You see scoring plays (and other "key" plays), but you get no sense for how the team got to the scoring play to begin with. It's missing context. For what it is, it's a nice feature.

As for YouTube Sunday Ticket's multiview feature, it's nice to see 4 games at the same time on one screen. But I had been under the impression that you could pick which 4 games you wanted to see. And that's not the case. YouTube decides which 4 games you can watch. And locally blacked-out network games are not included in the multiview options. When DirecTV had Sunday Ticket, channel 702 showed up to 8 games on one screen, and they DID include locally blacked-out network games in their multiview.

I'm not complaining (anymore) about YouTube's Sunday Ticket, since I did enough of that already in the past. Just giving a brief review and some comparisons.
