I can't say I'm too bent out of shape over it. You're talking about two pretty big east coast markets in the late stages of a close, albeit, preseason game. As opposed to the tiny amount of Rams fans who were impacted and exactly zero Chargers fans.

It was also predictable when you looked at NFLN's schedule - Eagles-Ravens at 7pm, Chargers-Rams at 9pm? Unless you worked on St. Louis' riverfront football stadium proposal and thus don't know how math works, you could see it coming.

yeah but then dont promote the game on being at 6pm on your schedule. Just show the delayed version or that it will be joined in progress. Im definitely not looking to see what the earlier game was to make sure NFL network would show the game in its entirety. I would say there are a lot of Rams fans throughout the US.

Yes, that's what they used to do with preseason on NFL Network. But not this year, this year the games overlap. And there's a big ad across the screen saying "Don't miss a play, subscribe to NFL+". Which means they did this on purpose. They're trying to piss people off, and it's working.

Like I said, it was a bait and switch. That is how the bait and switch works, you promise one thing and deliver another and then say "but if you pay me X, I'll give you what I actually promised you."

I think there are Rams fans sprinkled around the country but few enough that when you encounter one in the wild there is a genuine feeling of surprise and instant connection. I had that experience about a month after SB56 and we spent the next 2 hours talking about the season and SB over beers.

We are not like say, Jaguars fans where you encounter one outside of FL and go "how did THAT happen?" .. but still not nearly where Rams management wants them to be. They badly want to be up there with the Cowboys, Steelers, and (throw up in my mouth) Patriots.

I don't think it was a bait and switch. I think they decided more people would want to watch the end of the Ravens/Eagles. They were probably planning to play it by ear and that's what they did. Out of market Rams fans are mad. Out of market Eagles/Ravens fans would've been mad had they switched. Someone was gonna be mad either way...

My bitch is dont market it as a full game and end up showing very little of the actual game.
I did look at the guide and it was a 3hrs, set it to record in case I wasnt around. Like I mentioned I was around and it was a mess. NFL network should have just shown it taped delayed and never tried to market it was live. I would also make the argument the first half of a preseason game is more important than the second half....

Saw this yesterday, only 3 months too late. I wonder is the subscriptions are running a wee bit slow or GOOG wanted as many full subs before opening up the "student" subs. It will be interesting what the pricing is, under $150 and I will probably do it (my son is going to Long Beach State).
