They always do that no matter what sort of development it is. Shopping plaza, office buildings, stadiums etc. Plenty of good sized trees that look pretty in the picture and will never be there. For example by me they are building a mixed development with residential/retail/commercial. At a planning and zoning meeting I called them out for portraying a large 20+ year growth tree where there is currently a Burger King.

Look at the forest that was supposed to surround the North Riverfront stadium in St. Louis.

I especially like the trees on the roof of the parking garage. :roll2:

I suppose it must be common. I know it’s just an artist rendering and all but obviously no effort to do some of the things in it. Wouldn’t think it would be too hard to have some trees. Guess they would lose a few dozen parking spots though.
I bet they won’t even have those balloons that are in one of the pictures!

When the entire district is complete I doubt anyone will be bitching about the lack of trees in the parking lot.

And honestly, I am surprised anyone is right now.

Like I said they all do it to pretty up the picture. I mean how many trees are they actually going to have inside the Clippers new arena?

Or this is the new St. Louis MLS stadium.

I have no idea where those 20 foot tall trees are coming from, because that's a police parking lot right now.
