Okay... here are some questions...

If we presume that these "reports" have a source, which side do you think is leaking these numbers and why?

I generally presume that the player's camp (agents, family, etc.) are more likely to leak numbers than the team, though I'm sure that's not always the case.

So... why would Donald's camp leak this information? Seems like it would be counterproductive, as the general consensus (among those analyzing these "numbers") seems to be that an offer of $21M/year is fairly reasonable, while a demand North of $25M is not.

If the Rams were to leak the information, that would make more sense from a "get the fans on our side" standpoint, though the reaction on the Twitterverse seems to be decidedly pro-Donald (the "just pay the man" crowd).

Of course, its possible that whoever is leaking the story does not really know what is going on behind closed doors and is just trying to come across as an "insider."

Time will tell.

It sure is interesting that both sides were tight lipped since last summer. Now all of a sudden all these reports coming out. Someone's gotta be leaking that information. If there is anything to the reports than the Rams offered 21 mil and Donald is seeking north of 25 mil, I gotta think the leaks are coming out of the Rams side.

Seems to me more fans are turning on Donald since the +25 mil reports have been coming out. I don't want them to commit to that. There are several players they need to work on for next year. Joyner, Saffold, Havenstein. I mean, how can 21 million per year not be enough? Its more than any defensive player in history.

Donald's agent is a big name guy.

I thought maybe that leak from a low profile guy would have been if Donald's agent was some new upstart guy, but he isn't.

I don't think the Rams are the one's to leak the numbers. They have too much risk in that the players will lose trust in them if they attempt to negotiate that way. The Rams desire to be a team that FA's want to play for.

On that topic I feel teams may be taking a risk in alienating some players if the teams unilaterally come up with punishments for the whole anthem thing. Players may choose to not enter into any FA talk with a team that will suspend/fine them or not respect their views on what they (the player) see as an injustice . They might think those teams are not "player" friendly atmospheres so I'll play for someone else.

Could be a slippery slope.

How about this - the leak comes from the AD camp - in hopes that K Mack's camp believes it/uses it to get the Raiders to sign K Mack first and thus resetting the market - and resetting it above the rumored 21 mil amount that I am assuming the Rams/AD are stuck at. Then AD camp uses the new benchmark to push AD over the 21 mil? All this from, full disclosure here, someone with 0 twitter followers. :D

Just bored waiting for my pictures from Christmas in July for me.

Lots of good info in this thread by a lot of smart people unlike the herd boards thread(s) that are dominated by someone and 2 others trying to force their opinions down everyone's throats! If you don't agree with them, they will insist on getting in the last word.

I bet there were 100 posts JUST today by those 3 and 98 of the posts repeat the same nonsense! Thank god that isn't happening here. Not sure how they get away with it over there. If you confront them about it the admins threaten you with being banned unless you "ignore" them! They must "donate" to the admins to keep them from being banned! :lol2:

RFU is awesome! So glad to be here! There are "kongs of the board" here dominating every conversation! I love it! Thank you RFU!

It's ok if you're right and it's ok if you're wrong. It's annoying if you have to repeat it 100 times in one day! I swear some people don't have a life. They spend all day behind a keyboard trolling others. lol
