Goff was a game manager today, nothing more. He was lucky he didn't turn over the ball on the strip sack. I stand by my initial doubts.

He's not ready to win a big game, but he's good enough right now not to lose one.

All he had to do today was manage the game. Hand off to Gurley. After his first two passes, both incompletions, he went 10-14 for 91 yards, a TD and a pick (tipped). The score was 34-0. We really didn't need to pass anymore but he went 4 for 5 in the second half with another TD (all Gurley).

Seattle ran 1 play on our side of the 50 in the first 43:49 of the game and only 4 plays during the first 58:10 of the game before being handed the ball on downs on our last possession. Clearly the gameplan today was Gurley, Gurley and more Gurley as it should have been.

Well my friend, we took a HUGE step in that direction today. The path there will offer plenty of opportunities for Goff to show and test his mettle. We play like we did today in all 3 phases, beating us will be exceedingly difficult for anyone.

I think McVay has done a great job of giving the illusion that Goff is a star in this offense. He’s not. He’s at least a year away from making game winning plays in big games in critical spots.

After today I still think there's some truth in what you say. It wasn't a test because he was never placed in the position to win the game, though he did help the game and didn't hurt it. Once again as in other games it's clearly apparent that he has all the necessary talent, IS a franchise qb, and will develop into a good one, or even better. But there is still something "developing" and not fully "developed" about his game--he's not there yet but obviously has already made good strides.
