I just watched Detroit Lion troika podcast (at ROD) with former Lion player Joique Bell totally beating down on Goff......angrily intimating that Goff was gutless

at one point calling him "feline".....whatever that means.

...some pretty over-the-top stuff, even for this Canook Goff-basher.

Lotsa unhappiness and angst to be sure, amongst frustrated Lion football fans in Motown these days.

....but, believe me Elvis.....the context hurled about by those 3 Detroit talking heads indicated a far different sentiment.

So Goff is gone and here we are. Half the forum is enjoying the schadenfruede while the other half is still trying to defend being wrong on him. When I defended Goff is wasn't because I thought he was great. I thought we didn't have any other choice. So I did what I do as a Rams fan. Support our guy and hope for the best. I never imagined they could swing a trade for a guy like Stafford.

Meanwhile we have a pretty good team with a good quarterback leading them. I think I'll enjoy that and join the discussion threads on their accomplishments this year. This thread is more about "gotcha" than anything else.

The thing with the Goff debate is very few if any ever said Goff was great or elite. Some just acknowledged with ideal circumstances he played like a top 10 QB. The guy was a pro bowler at one point so it's not like he always "sucked".

Even now it's hard to say anyone is wrong on the guy. He's playing in DET with the worst offensive cast in NFL history arguably when you consider the injuries DET has had. Nevermind the fact they had very little to work with to begin the season. Hell, Stafford had HOF and pro bowl recievers to throw to and even then no playoff wins in 12 years in DET. So it's far from a done conclusion. However, the climb is steep for Goff, real steep.
