No offense taken. There were a lot of great fans in St. Louis. But we were a small minority of people that loved the Rams.

Ghost town in the stadium? yes ... even when every seat was filled. The majority of the fans went so they could say they saw the game. The Real fans went to actually see the game, and we were able to have a meaningful discussion afterwards.

BobCarl wrote:I agree with everything you said until this. The first RRF games and tail gates were attended by more out-of-town members than St. Louis natives. We loved having great fans many states and from out of the U.S.

But yes it did change. The mods there gave way to the native trolls and allowed them to offend and harass and run off the real fans.

The mods all sort of disappeared and weren’t replaced. Was before the move to LA was even real.
Goramsguy, racetech, ROT, all sort of left the scene and sondee was seemingly left alone to mod.
Seemed to me the site started dying long before the LA thing. When the political talk was banned we lost a lot.
I’ve never been much for social media, dabble a little bit on Facebook but RRF was my social media. The General Discussion was awesome. We had so much fun there. Many a late night was spent in the many silly threads.
But the politics really divided the group.
I stayed away from most of it but will say I’ve learned so much from many of the debates.

Son_Dee is on Twitter which brings up an important factor in the demise of RRF: Facebook, Twitter, stuff like that. Internet forums are kind of antiquated, i mean, we're cool like vinyl but everyone else is kind of VHS...

true, in fact i think we talked about this during the rfu facelift period... that said, discussion boards aren't going anywhere any time soon, they fill a niche that other social media platforms can't touch, more than a few boards have multi-million visitors a month... but like anything else they take work, they have to stay relevant, they have to adapt to the ever changing viewing platforms (they need to have responsive code so that they can be easily, and enjoyably, viewed on many different devices), they need to include support for social media and streaming media embedding, etc., etc... as far as i could tell rrf didn't keep up, didn't even seem remotely interested in keeping up, the forum became very dated, looked very dated, and was slow as molasses in january, despite the many offers from members to help bring it up to speed, i know i was one of the many members, offered more than once back in the day, never even got a response.

Other than the peeps, my fondest memory, as others have stated, was Rev’s “Snapshots”.

I don’t do drugs, well if you don’t include alcohol, but to me, after a long off-season of withdrawl, it was like a junkie finally getting his fix. There was great detail, and done with a sense of humor. Who can forget G.T. Ball?

I thought everyone pitching in for a camera was a very nice gesture. I believe it was a poster by the name of george_allen’s idea. Wonder what ever happened to him?

I, too, admit to sometimes going over there to look up old posts. Just for shits and giggles.

Kinda sad if it is truly gone.

I do have one vestige from RRF, though. My avatar.

Because it was the spawn of RamStalk, it initially attracted many trolls. I didn’t have an avatar at the time, and for some reason, one of those trolls took a cotton to me and offered to do one. I told him what I wanted, and he obliged. Then I changed my mind around ten times, just for fun, and each time he did the edits precisely. It was kind of like when Basil Fawlty was rearranging things for his hard to please wife and says “ Is that all dear, or shall I move the hotel one inch to the left?”

Good times. He was banned shortly thereafter.

I know the avatar is dated, but that’s my little piece of RRF, and I wouldn’t give it up for the world.

I actually meant the site itself was a ghost town after the team moved.

I was new to the internet and just learning how to surf the web when I found RRF. What a joy it was to meet so many Rams Fans. Though it got devicive with the projected move. I got reprimanded and threatened with banning for my posts regarding Raider/Charger move to Carson, and my pro move to LA stance. I live in Carson and tried to explain why it was ludicrous and told to keep quiet. Thanks Hacksaw and Elvis for inviting me here.
I miss the freinds I made at RRF, but have some new ones here. I too, would occasionally go back into RRF archives. That is truly a loss.
