Sadly, our guy's got a terrible potential for a nickname: JaGoff.

I hope the Ryan Gosling thing sticks for his sake. ;)

Really? He is a dead ringer for Gosling in my book.

Now the Niners have to figure out how to keep him, not unlike our situation with Sammy but probably higher stakes for SF...

Exactly right. Nobody was going to give up more than a 2nd for him knowing N. England's situation.........Brady as the starter, Garrapolo on the market = he was going somewhere because they didn't want to pay him. Was he worth more? It looks like it.

I don't buy they "didn't have enough tape". They saw him in 4 different preseasons. They saw him every day in practice. They saw what he did in 6 quarters when they knew he was starting, prepared and gameplanned to start last year......42 of 59 for 496 yds 4 TD 0 Int (119.0 QB rating). They saw how he played under pressure in the opener last year in Arizona when they trailed 21-20 with under 10 minutes left. He took them 61 yards (5 of 7 for 62yds) eating up 6 minutes and kicking the GWFG for one of those all important 4QC's.

Then he came back the next week against Miami and put up 232 yards with 3 TDs and 24 points in the first half before getting injured right before the break (fwiw, Kiko Alonso again). They knew what they had but they didn't want to pay him what it would have taken AND keep Brady. And they didn't want to keep him and kick Brady to the curb, though that may come back to haunt them.

I know as Ram fans (or any fans) it's tiring to listen to the constant Jimmy G hype but the SF fans are probably tired of listening to the Sean McVay talk. If Shanahan is all he's supposed to be, it will be L.A. vs S.F. for the West over the next decade or so. That's fun. We owe them a decade (or more) of disappointment. I have the utmost faith in McVay, Goff, Gurley, Kupp, Woods (and Snead), Donald & Co. to keep us ahead of the niners in the standings. At the very least we won't need to listen to the BS about the Seahawks being old, the Cardinals and niners being bad with the division practically gift wrapped every season. We should be on our toes and at our best having to earn it against a good division opponent.

That being said, let's deal them a blow and lose this Sunday. We have nothing to gain with a win and a niner win moves them from as high as #6 to as low as #12 in the draft. I know, I know.....we shouldn't be talking about losing to affect the draft like we do every previous year at this time but it is what it is. We need to beat them every way we can. If that means losing a meaningless game by resting/strictly limiting our best and having to listen to niner fans talk shit all off season, so be it. We have a game next weekend and they don't.

Losing this one wouldn't surprise me. It doesn't worry me either.

Well, I'm going to be at my favorite beach this Sunday, surrounded by 49er fans. I will uphold our RAM honor in the face of the enemy.

Good times.
Just remind them, “hey we’re playing X next week, who do you guys have again?”
