The fact is the entire story is bogus tabloid junk. Can't you see that every other day it's one story after another. Politician,jock,actor..story after story. It's a joke. It's a Simpsons or Southpark episode. It's fake.

I've tried to be a student of propaganda through my adult career. Read the books by the masters, and tried to understand the methods of manipulation. So, yes, I agree, most of it is Simulacra for the masses.

Hence, I've shut down consuming almost all media. ... since about 15yrs ago. About the only thing I follow any longer is Rams football. And the only place I get my Rams news is from RFU :)

So, I'm pretty well insulated. Still, it's hard to listen to this stuff. Even if it is fake, for the purposes of serving some higher agenda - whatever that could be.

sounds like the saying ... "don't shit where you eat".

But this isn't 100% on men ... I can't tell you how many times (when I was younger, much younger) when I'd have my crotch grabbed or women rub their bosoms on my arm, those with low cut shirts lean over in front of me. It didn't happen until I became a starter on the High School team. Parties where everyone had too much to drink, and flirting galore ... and the Cheerleaders? Looking is ok if you are a starter on the team, but if not your a perv.

What's the point of the Cheerleaders at games? Does it make people concentrate on the difference between zone coverage and man to man?

I knew, one of the first female reporters that was allowed to enter a professional post game locker room ... (it happened in St. Louis ... baseball Cardinals vs Cincinnati Reds). Lets say she bragged about ... well lets don't say ... it could have been any given Sunday and the other player just got out of a cold shower. Needless to say she didn't seem to care about what happened on the field during the game.

I for one cannot understand why rich/famous/powerful men would do these things that they are accused of. They can literally have girls falling for them left and right just based on who they are. Why bother harassing a coworker? I just don't get it.

With that being said, we should also keep in mind that we need to give these men a chance to prove their innocence rather than just assuming they are guilty because they were accused. Even though our justice system is actually "innocent till proven guilty"... I guess that's a topic for a different day/thread...

There is an old cartoon of a middle aged man and women standing in front of a large mirror. The cartoon has you positioned looking at an angle from behind the couple so you see their bodies and their reflections in the mirror.
The man is a dumpy guy with a pot belly and bad posture. The woman is sexy with an hourglass figure, no tummy, long hair and bright eyes.
But their reflections in the mirror are he as Hercules and she as Manatee hag women.

Perception is funny and can be a bitch between the sexes and how we all look at ourselves though different filters.

One problem that handsome, famous, wealthy or otherwise powerful men can develop is to think that it's ok to have their way because the woman should want it and like it.
Kind of crazy but I've seen it happen... more than twice.

In the biz, many of these uncool guys have traded favors with these gals for career advancement..
For those women of consent, it's different. Sometimes promises aren't kept too.
I really wouldn't be surprised if some of these allegations aren't monetarily driven. That will all flesh out (no pun intended) in time but some reputations will be ruined forever, and possibly unfairly.

But many should have been ruined for being pigs. These girls are someone's daughter and being the fairer and weaker (in general) sex, they needed to be treated accordingly!

I for one hope all this stuff levels the playing field from here on out. I also would like to see us be in a better place.

Someone said it's fake?

Again. A lot of the offending material was sent by text. Both vids and messages. That's presumably still in existence and can be used as evidence. So what's fake about this?

I may have some bad news for some to think all the recent rage of poor behavior is going to change things.

Man as we know it has been around so the scientists say about 60 to 80 thousand years ago.

Civilized man has been around for about 6,000 years.

The industrial age has been around about 200 years.

We are still learning to be civilized and the industrial age is making it more difficult.

This type of behavior will not change in our life times and beyond for a good time. It will just be learned to be hidden better. Human nature.

Civilized is another way of saying ; easily manipulated and pushed around. People who follow orders are civilized.Slaves are civilized.
The industrial revolution was the beginning of corporate slavery.
Science has actually no way of knowing how long man/people have existed. There's no way in hell they can possibly figure that out. It's all hope and guesswork

my daughter is a college freshman in a co-ed dorm, floors are co-ed as are the bathroom/shower facilities (altho the stalls are very private), ironically she attended an all-girls catholic high school.

anyway i was less than enthused about the dorm sitch when my wife and daughter first broke the news, more like "wtf, are you kidding me? no friggin' way!" - but i changed my tune in a new york sec on move-in day, as we helped my daughter get settled, i immediately loved the vibe that the co-ed dorm generated, the vibe that the co-ed environment seemed to insist on, organically.

the juvenile mob mentality of young boys on their own for the first time was nowhere to be seen, because they were surrounded by girls, girls who weren't about to put up with the shit of a lone asshole, a guy without a posse to egg him on, or to back him up, it was truly an amazing dynamic, a really interesting thing to watch. hell, my freshman year in college? in an all boys dorm? across from an all-girls dorm? good god we were a bunch of friggin' idiots, backed by the power of a bunch of other friggin' idiots!.

anyway i think about her dorm sitch often whenever i hear/read the latest, seemingly daily, harassment shit, and know those days are over, the world's not going to change in a day, but the wave has taken root across the country, including college campuses, thank goodness.

the irony is those who espouse this paranoid, narrow view, this nonsense, are the ones who have fallen victim to it, who are trapped by it, yet they really don't see it.
