I am going to ease off on Reddick because he has been hitting the ball hard of recently. Not necessarily getting hits but hitting it hard.

Prior to this past week or so if you had asked me about Reddick I would have said he was the biggest blunder of the year. The guy was batting about .150 and was replacing puig. Wtf. Puig for all his misgivings would have given you at least .150

If Reddick begins to start slumping again i am all in favor of pulling him and playing puig again fulltime.

You know, it wasn't too long ago I thought the Dodgers wouldn't make the playoffs. Now here we are with 14 games left and people are actually talking about the magic number to win the division. Gotta give Dave Roberts props. Previous years I thought they underachieved. This year I honesty thought they didn't have the pitching to contend. He's got them overachieving now.

If you look at head to head matchups against all the contenders, the Cubs and Giants are the only teams they have a losing record with and those are only 1 game under. 500 for each. And most of the losses were earlier in the season when they were struggling to find their way. They took the last series they played with each team. They took the series from three of the top 4 AL teams they face. The Redsox, Yankees and Bluejays. They're 5-1 with the Nationals.

That shows they're capable of beating anyone. Plus, the won't face the Cubs in the first round. The wild card winner will. Who knows? Maybe this year's team, which I honestly thought would not be a playoff team, can surprise us. They did in 1988 with a lesser talented team.

Big win last night. 6 games up. 12 to go. A split over the next two games would put the magic number at 5. A sweep would put it at 3.

Madbum pitched great and so did Kershaw. But the Giants pen blew another one. Never seen a bullpen blow so many games. I don't the Giants will have even year magic this year. Their bullpen doesn't give Bochy many options.

I watched the confrontation with Puig and Madbum. Say what you want about Puig but it was Bum who started it. You could see him jawing at Puig and Puig reacted. That would be a heckuva fight. Two big guys going at it. Madbum is a hot head. He's done this many times before. He better watch out. Someone's gonna retaliate in a bad way.

Anyway, things looking good for Los Doyers. I honestly did not thing we were a playoff team. Kudos To Dave Roberts for keeping this together when their ace went down.

Snack, I have to fully admit I was mortified by Dave Roberts' management style early on. I ranted like it was football or something until about July. He's a different cat and the players seem to respond. Kicking Puig to the minors was a big move and the kid has responded by playing hard and proper for once in his career. Bumlicker ate way too many paint chips back in the hollers as a kid and cannot keep his shit straight vs. Los Doyers. Great game last night. Viva Vinny. Thinking of travelling far enough south so I can listen to Vin call his last game. Midget announcers are ball slurping homers. If Hill can throw another gem tonite the wailing from New Candlestink will be awesome. Kersh, Maeda and Hill might just be enough to get to the NLCS. I fully expect the Midgets to sneak in via wild card again and with their starters they can be a problem. Hey, 1988 was an "even" year too, eh? TSlick, sorry to pile on, you are a great Ram fan, but come on man, make the clean sweep. You'll feel so much better.

Totally agree about the run support for Kershaw but on the other hand the team he's pitching against always counters him with their best pitcher, for instance last night Baumgarner opposed Kershaw & we were shut out for 8 innings, all our runs were scored in the 9th against the Giants & that happens all the time, last week against the Marlins, Hernandez opposed Kershaw, some people think Hernandez is a right handed Clayton Kershaw, & he won altho that was Kershaws 1st game back after a 3 month lay-off & he was on a pitch count also...
I love that we have a 6 game lead on the Giants with 12 games to go...

Another low offensive output for the Dodgers. I'm beginning to wonder if the Rams are rubbing off on them.

Giants have Matt Moore going tonight. He dominated them in Dodger stadium last time he pitched here. He also beat them with Miami too. He seems to like pitching in this stadium.

All in all though, the Giants needed a sweep going into the series. They won't get that and the Dodgers can actually clinch it before the final series. Even with a loss tonight. A win all but seals it. But I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. Dodgers have the Rockies and Padres. Those teams would love to put a dent in the Dodgers post season run.
