This is exactly what Snead and Company wanted when they made all of the offseason moves they made.

I am not happy with Suh and Peters as some of the key offseason signings but this is the game they have the chance to show what they have to offer (You can add players like Brockers, Joyner, Barron to that list as well). The entire offseason of getting players who Snead and McVay thought they needed to take the next step is here and it’s time to deliver.

In addition, McVay hopefully learned a very valuable lesson from not only last year’s playoff game but the struggles vs Chicago, NO, and Philly. Having an extra week and another year of experience needs to be key for him to take the next step as the Offensive genius most of us think he is. Plus, this team is going to be as healthy as they can hope to be at this time of the year.

On Offense the Rams need to be content to take some of the underneath and intermediate stuff IF nothing is open downfield. I love Goff always trying to push the ball downfield but those 5-8 yard competitions are huge. I would be shocked if Gurley/Anderson do not have more than 25 carries this game. McVay has to have learned that the games the Rams offense has struggled is often due to not keeping Gurley (and now Anderson) involved enough. I expect to see a lot of play action and a lot of controlled roll outs.

Defensively it really comes down to 1 player to me and that is obviously Elliot. Cooper is an ok player but to me he is not a game changer. The secondary focus needs to be primarily on him from the receiver stand point but many of the big plays I’ve seen from Cooper is from blown coverages and shoddy tackling. With that said, the Rams CANNOT give up gash plays and blown plays like they have seemingly most games. If Dallas is going to score make them drive the field. I am not a huge Prescott fan. I think he is inaccurate, careless with the ball and does not have good pocket sense. I would be shocked if the Rams don’t have at least chances for several fumble and/or INTs. Make Prescott beat you from the pocket and I think that is what you want.

The wildcard to the game (besides the obvious things like turnovers etc) is Special Teams. I think the Rams can definitely do some damage vs Dallas in that unit. We absolutely cannot have role players costing this team turnovers like Cooper did last year vs Atl. Natson cannot turn the ball over.

This is the match up I wanted. I wanted no real part of Chicago. Dallas is 1 to 1 and 1/2 dimensional. If this team cannot handle an offense like that then they have no business playing for anything beyond this.

Apart from Cooper, Gallup has become quite solid the last couple of months. They go to him often.

His upright style with his long strides was unique. All his robo gear with the huge pads gave him the appearance of a 'Transformer' running at you. Glide..
