Just like they continue to ignore how bad that deal is for the team owner. They don't seem to get that for Stan to change his mind and stay, they need to dangle a better carrot. Nothing and no one is going to make him stay, not the NFL owners, the bylaws, and whatever the taskforce does if he doesn't like the deal they are offering. by Rams the Legends live on 9 years 7 months ago Total posts: 1990 Joined: Aug 26 2015 Colorado Springs Pro Bowl Re: Proposed NFL stadium in Inglewood faces FAA scrutiny over height, effects on radar POST #32 bubbaramfan wrote:You have some background with radar. What was your reaction to the suggestion that the Inglewood stadium might affect incoming airline traffic? My brother says absolutely no concern. My brother was an electronics engineer in the Navy, and then worked at Todd Shipyards in Long Beach installing and servicing electronic equipment in container ships. In 1982 when the air traffic controllers went on strike, Pres. Reagan fired them all, and they recruited him. He worked at LAX as an FAA GS-2, and is retiring this year as a GS-14, step 10. (equivlant to a Brigidier general). I got to visit the control tower at Lax many times over the years and always completely blown away at the level of sophistication, and level of intelligence of the people working there. The FAA requires controllers and personel servicing the equipment to regularly attend classes at their school in Oklahoma City. I went with him a couple of years ago just to get out of dodge. They let me attend one of the lectures. I felt like fish out of water. Interesting stuff but way over my head. I have no concerns flying in the US. Commercial airlines are in good hands.I find the released story short on detail bro. An I also find government likes money more than most. Government when given the option will always opt out of giving jail time when it can add to it's coffers. This whole stadium thing is the biggest story in LA, Inglewood, Carson, San Diego, Oakland, St. Louey and on many tv's and in newspapers across our country. When ya add up all these factors ya have to know our government is gonna put all this under a microscope as with due diligence they might find some little misstep that can be turned into a fine. If their is any problem with the stadium it will not be anything that will stop it from going forward. Uncle Sam would never do that he is more concerned with making sure he can find a way from day one to get embedded in any profitable venture so he can make sure that during the lifetime of the venture he can be there to hold out his hand in the form of a fine or tax to ensure ya do your part to grease the machinery. So I agree with your brother it is so a non issue and if it is a issue it will never be one large enough to shut this down when ya can get special dispensations, waivers, or any kind of special treatment money can buy ya. So in my opinion the gov is just looking at this and voicing it's concern whether or not there be any real concern. As gov will always make sure ya cross every "t" as if ya don't then they will instead draw a vertical line down a s for ya ($). So no bro is not a issue by any means.Yea I have no doubt your brother is skilled and has expertise and on matters like this his judgement and opinions is one ya can definitely defer to. Way cool he was able to turn his service into a successful career as it is sad how many of us who have served become a statistic or a number a by line. One thing is for sure when I joined up and I am sure for ya as well ya are trained and a idea and philosophy is forged in ya. We are told to suffer in silence and we do so as a practice and a very way of life. Problem is we learn it so good when we leave the service we continue to just keep doing so. Which when ya suffer in silence makes it so easy for Uncle Sam to just forget ya. So thank heavens for others who feel no need to have their voice silenced and speak up for vets. An tell gov they are failing folks who volunteered to give all and gov is failing reciprocating back it's all. So I am most glad your brother has done well and risen bro in the civilian world. Hooyah. So anyway I digress as usual, however I do so agree with your brother this is a non issue for sure and will be worked out and this in no way will stop Inglewood from being built. by Hacksaw 9 years 7 months ago Total posts: 24523 Joined: Apr 15 2015 AT THE BEACH Moderator Re: Proposed NFL stadium in Inglewood faces FAA scrutiny over height, effects on radar POST #33 I'm diggin' the expertise around here.
