This should give us all hope for much better things on that side of the ball with many of the existing Rams roster. If the D and ST's remain at their same level, we could sniff the playoffs for the first time in forever.

Yes, offensively we were a 'challenged' team. It begs to question just how bad (or good) was each individual player? And extrapolate that for each unit. Was the O line as bad as they appeared or were they asked to do things that were predictable and easily defensible? Take it a step further. Did the lack of offense, the sheer inadequacy of it series after series, game after game, have an affect on the late game collapses our defense seem to experience?

I'm pretty confident the special teams won't miss a beat. And with Phillips running the D, provided he adapts enough to the roster or adapts the roster enough to his scheme, they might even be better than last year. So we can hope McVay & Co. mesh the run with the pass and make the offense respectable. Given all that......and 'that's' a lot that must go right....we could be sniffing the postseason.

Bad news. The good news is they didn't wait until Monday to make a decision, and make it more difficult for the Rams to find a center in free agency (if that's still their plan). John Sullivan from the Redskins will probably be one of the options that they'll be interested.

Or maybe signing him to an offer sheet that pays him starter money instead of high-end backup money?

If you really wanted this guy, why go cheap? Maybe a two-year $10M with a cap number of over $5M in 2017 to make it extremely painful for the Bills to match, especially given their cap situation and the number of players they need to sign. This is Snead's gaffe.

The Rams cap situation is tight too. That's another issue the Rams have to deal with.

Because maybe Kromer, who coached him, didn't want him THAT much??
