I like that the Rose Bowl people know that it's the Rose Bowl -- the recently renovated Rose Bowl. If the NFL wants to play there, it can make its own bid and the RB people will review it for adequacy.

A little more info, from tonight's Pasadena Star News; looks like may not be so easy to
convince the City Council to override the RBOC, they need to go five-for-five among the
supposed non-commits and Council members did in fact meet with an NFL representative
earlier today before making their announcement --

coming to Pasadena. All five of the remaining council members would need to vote in favor for it to pass.

If the Rose Bowl is out, then this is a big problem for the NFL.

There is no way they can have the Raiders and Chargers both play in the Coliseum. The field will be a mess with the college games going on there as well. I can't imagine that going on for 3 years, and that's what choosing Carson would cause.

They have said only one team per venue so this doesn't really have an impact on the Raiders since there has already been a debate whether either stadium wanted them. I think in the end that the only stadium the NFL will be able to secure will be SubHub and the teams will have to cut their own deals for the others. The NFL has been heavy handed when dealing with cities for Super Bowls why would it be any different for temp site in LA.
