The Los Angeles Rams haven’t had many injury questions through three games this season, but they have a few heading into Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Sean McVay said Friday that three players will be questionable to play: Alaric Jackson, Tyler Higbee and Ben Skowronek.

Jackson is dealing with a hamstring injury suffered Monday night against the Bengals, while Higbee and Skowronek have Achilles injuries that could affect their statuses for Sunday’s matchup with the Colts.

McVay said Jackson will likely be a game-time decision, which is concerning for the Rams. After Jackson went down in Monday’s loss, the offensive line took a major step back. If Jackson misses the game, it’s unlikely the Rams would plug Zach Thomas in at left tackle again.

John Johnson III, who has only played four defensive snaps, is questionable with a face injury after being added to the report Friday.

McVay says WR Ben Skowronek (Achilles) and TE Tyler Higbee (Achilles) will be limited today and also be listed as questionable. https://t.co/6CbokJNIwx

On the Colts’ side, Anthony Richardson has cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to play against the Rams. The statuses for Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner are unknown for Sunday, as both of them are listed as questionable.

Starting center Ryan Kelly has also been ruled out, as has tackle Bernhard Raimann.

I had this game circled months ago as our best shot at a win in the first 5 games. We got that win in the first game. If we go 2-3 after the Philly game it will surpass my expectations. Although Indy doesn't appear to be the gimme I once thought it was.

I certainly hope we never see Zach Thomas at tackle again. That performance was Bobby Evans-esque. I suppose if they wanted to tank for the number one pick they could IR Jackson and start Thomas at left tackle the rest of the season. That should do it.

This game is a must win game, because if we lose we will be on a four game losing streak, after October 8. That is due to the Rams got no shot at beating Philly, the next week.

But I did see McVay poor play calling against the Bengals.

The OL was blocking just fine for our run game when plays were called to run.

RB/Williams avg 3.8

Team avg 5.5

The problem was the unbalance of passes vs run calls. 33 vs 13,

Plus the timing of a play calls,

some plays that should of been a run instead of a pass play call,

or vice versa.

As for RB/Evans,

Maybe he is not ready,

Just like Williams wasn't used that much during his rookie season.

He is t ready in pass protection/pass game. So it’s a huge tell that the play is a run with him if he is in.

Staff checked out of some called runs based on the box count and look.

Whatever the reasons, the Rams have to get a lead and keep it for MCV to really run the ball.
