Yes. 22 years ago. Instead now you get:

2023 Rodgers/Wilson
2022 Stafford/Wolford/Perkins
2021 Lamar Jackson/Tyler Huntley
2020 Drew Brees/Taysom Hill
2019 Ben Roethlisberger/Mason Rudolph/ Delvin Hodges

Every so often (not very often) you luck out with a Nick Foles, who is normally pedestrian but plays over his head for 6 or 7 games....albeit with a talented team around him. There just aren't many QB situations where you don't lose a ton when the starter goes down. 1 - 3 games where you end up 2-1 is finding lightning in a bottle. Anything more, shine the golf clubs.

But the RAMs are watching their bank,

because they are paying for at least four that are on the returnable IR candidates.

Three of them should be back by the fifth week,

This is a good point, several players that could be back soon. Kupp, Long, Mathis, Taylor, Bennett...

And don't forget, Brady wasn't Brady back then. He was an unknown, untested 6th round draft pick...

Ryp can manage a game. All you can hope for IF he gets in, is that it’s mop up duty. If he has to replace Staff for any amount of time, go .500 and the team should be ok - depending on how many games that represents, of course.

Sean McVay gives update on Stetson Bennett, says he 'sounds really good'

The Los Angeles Rams unexpectedly placed Stetson Bennett on the non-football illness list almost two weeks ago, but Sean McVay didn’t disclose the reason for it. All McVay said was that it’s unrelated to the quarterback’s shoulder injury, but we still don’t know what’s going on with the rookie out of Georgia.

McVay provided a little bit of an update this weekend, saying Bennett is “doing really well.” He still doesn’t know when Bennett will return, but he was happy to be able to hear his voice recently.

“I have, yeah,” McVay said of whether he’s kept in touch with Bennett. “And he’s doing really well, which I was really encouraged to be able to hear. I’m not really sure on a timetable with anything and so that’s been the good thing. I got a chance to hear his voice and he sounds really good and that was really cool to hear.”

The Rams drafted Bennett in the fourth round this year, selecting him to be Matthew Stafford’s backup as a rookie. With Bennett out, Brett Rypien has been promoted to QB2 and has since been signed to the active roster after starting the year on the practice squad.

While we might not know what Bennett is going through, it’s obviously bigger than football, especially based on McVay’s latest comments.

Sounds like a rehab stint to me. But I am cynical. I hope he gains the necessary perspective for his life first and foremost. Football comes second, if ever, depending on what he is truly going through.

Eff you Silva, we don't need to know. It's personal, nobody owes you an answer and nobody owes fans an answer.

Maybe he was partying with Chandler Jones, maybe not.
Maybe someone in his family has a life threatening illness, maybe not.
Maybe he has CTE, maybe not.
Maybe he's losing his religion, maybe not.

Give the man his privacy.... give him some respect.
