It’s not ridiculous at all. It happens at every level of sport. If you’ve coached and coached long enough, you have a decent chance of experiencing it. I have.

And you are and have been spot on re; the OL. I’ve told you as much. They trotted out another version to start this game. Had to make a brief change at LT. And still, dogshit results. Major overhaul needed but will be very difficult to pull off.

Yes, you are one of the very few who got it about the OL. But the one who didn't get it that bothers me the most is McVay. I understand how the homer Rams fans blindly defer to whatever the Rams do, like the little boy who got horse shit for Christmas and said I got a pony around here somewhere. The idea that you can plug in poor talent on the OL, coach them up, and get good results is delusional, even without the injuries.

As far as McVay losing the team, I don't see how a guy who has been to 2 SBs in his first 5 years, and won it last year, can lose a locker room. Guys may be down, but they haven't suddenly decided that McVay is no longer a great coach.

They clearly though, sans injury, they’d be at least Ok on the OL. They know more than we do. Evans anywhere on the field, ever is perplexing. Clearly he performs better in practice and the other candidates offer less somehow. Once Edwards is back I doubt we see Evans again, ever.

When players (Ramsey) break protocol and go public with team grievances, the coach has a locker room issue. Started with Akers too. MCV said the right thing about Jalen’s comments. But, when they met, I’d bet he said don’t do that shit again. These are signs that the message and actions might be getting tiresome. That is how it starts. Not saying he’s totally lost his guys. Or even that he will. But, if he keeps saying and doing the same things, this team will start losing faith in him. He HAS to make changes not only bc it’s needed, but also bc he has to stay true to his word.

SO, WHO OWNS THE "POOR PLANNING FOR THE RAM 2022 OL"? :?2:
I SAY 80% SNEAD DOES....WITH 20% TO McVAY FOR TUTU 2021 LUXURY PICK (NO CREED).

Yeah, about the actual "ownership" of this clusterfuck 2022 Ram OL planning, that IMHO ranks right up there with the 1940 French Army High Command placing all that faith in the Maginot Line....
you've got GM Les Snead, HC Sean McVay....and then all those high paid Ram Scouts, as the prime potential "poor OL planning" suspects IMO.

Bill Parcells famously stated once following an incident in the 1996 Draft Patriots' War Room:
"They (GM & Owner) want you (as the HC) to cook the dinner;
at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries."
Fair point, IMO.

Maybe Parcells was never allowed alot of say in NE Draft Picks back in the day.....
but we saw from the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Ram Draft Mansion that McSnead are more of a collaborative two-man Draft team when we watched the film on the drafting of Logan Bruss at #104. McVay gets his views in.....and Snead certainly considers them, from what I saw. The scouts said jack-shit as I recall.....their work was already in the books....except for the guy jumping into the swimming pool to celebrate Los Ramos drafting of "a NFL starting guard." :D

But overall, it is Les Snead who decides not to trade up for Bruss, even though McVay is lobbying Snead to consider it more strongly.

IMO, I feel that McVay was probably the architect (THE DRAFT BEFORE) behind picking TuTu Atwell over Creed Humphrey at #57 in 2021......but I lay the whole Maginot Line thinking.....IE. "don't worry folks, we got our 2022 OL Horses in-house, take it to the bank"......I lay that line of thinking at Les Snead's feet! :idea2:

SNEAD'S OL DRAFTING HISTORY
Snead made contact with his Auburn alum chums, and picked LT Greg SuperBust Robinson with #2 overall in 2015 :oops2: ,
but in the same draft HOWEVER, he tagged some guy named Aaron Donald later in the First Round 8-)...pretty damn good pick! :idea2:
So....maybe Les just isn't a good talent judge of OLinemen, eh??? :idea2:

I say that because in 2019, Les Snead thought yutes Noteboom & Allen could replace stout vets Saffold & Sullivan. Snead WAS WRONG, and Los Ramos missed the 2019 Playoffs. :(

Then following our SBLVI victory, where Snead's GM masterstrokes in signing OBJ, Von Miller, Eric Wettle et al were critical to our Playoff run to Lombardiville.....so full marks to Les Snead on those moves! :idea2: :!2: 8-) Kudos!!

BUT, following SBLVI celebrating.....
and AGAIN focussing that these upcoming 2022 Ram OL decisions come AFTER Snead had already seen the 2019 MissedPlayoffs movie,
Les F'ThemPicks Snead, 6 months ago, sees Andrew FutureHOFer Whitworth & Austin $28MilPantherUFA Corbett both leave the team.
Now Snead HAS TO KNOW that Whit/Corbett are superior OL talents to Saffold/Sully, RIGHT??!! :idea2: I mean, it's pretty obvious....

BUT....
Les Snead again rolls out that old "we got adequate 2022 OL depth In-House" mantra....and all he does to off-set the loss of a Future HOFer/Top NFL LT and a #33 overall 2018 Draft pick (who gets a Big UFA Carolina PayDay) is this...
Draft an OG
at #104. :o :arrow2: :shock2:
....whom in Logan Bruss, everybody in Los Ramos WarRoom, Scouts, Snead, McVay et al are referring to as "a NFL starter".......
....so, ONE potential rookie Starter Bruss, will balance the loss of Whit&Corbs?
Really?

Then, a funny thing happened on the way to RunningItBack....
during PreSeason, Bruss The RG Starter movie title gets amended to.....Open Competition For RG between Bruss and Ram in-house UDFA (with 1 Total NFL Start :? ), Coleman Shelton. :shock2:
BTW, this open competition announcement comes about the time the Wisconin Badger Bruss starts to look noticeably less-"NFL Starter" worthy during our PreSeason.

Still and all, even if Bruss loses out as 2022 Ram RG starter, well....we've got a helluva 2022 IOL backup in Logan Bruss, right.....and best of all, Bruss joins the 2 former Badgers, Havs and Edwards....hey, why not collect the whole set, eh?!! ;)

Then, A BIG PROBLEM (one would think, anyway) as Bruss, our potential starting RG, and fer-sure primary backup IOL for 2022....
gets IR'd for all of 2022!! :o :arrow2: :(
That was following the Houston game, AUGUST 19TH :idea2:

So our primary 2022 IOL backup Bruss is out for the whole season....and what smart sense-of-urgency OL personnel thing does Snead do to address this key loss? :?2: :?2: :?2:
NOTHING!!! :shock2: :shock2: :shock2:

In fact, Les Snead does NOTHING on the Ram OL file, until AFTER our Buffalo Bills sackfest, where Allen gets hurt, September 8th....
and then Snead finally gets around to signing 31 year old palookah OG Oday 7TeamsIn8Years Aboushi....and get this, Aboushi does not get signed from another NFL Team Practice Squad....no, no, Aboushi gets signed only to Los Ramos PS on September 14th, because Oday is just a Street-Guy, and then he gets signed onto the Ram Roster on Sept. 20th. Same-same with Matt Skura....another street-urchin signed to our PS Sept. 21st and onto the Ram Roster on Oct. 8th.
Sheesh, Les.....can't we at least cherry-pick some, y'know, NFL Practice Squad OL types??? :roll2:

AND....SaintsBePraised, Les Snead on October 18th actually gets away from those Podcasts with the Forbes Magazine types, and actually purloins 37 year old OT journeyman Ty Nsekhe off the Indy PS. Wow....be still my beating heart!!! :roll2:

The bad news is that by October 18th Los Ramos are already 3 losses into the season, are getting our QB beaten like a piece of veal, have zero running game, and are having to play Sam Bradford Dink'n'Dunk 13 PPG football....and oh yeah, with the SF tough D coming up after our Bye Week. :( :arrow2: :shock2: :arrow2: :o

BTW, those 3 "2022 Ram OL Help" acquisitions that Les Snead has picked up for us: Oday, Matt & Ty? Well, they've done jack-shyte for our 2022 fortunes. Period. Full Stop. :oops2:

But wait....Les still had the Nov.01 NFL Trading Deadline coming.....surely he'd get us some OL help then right???!!! :?2:

NOPE.

So here we sit, with a $40Mil Franchise QB who is being smacked around like a pineta,
no running game,
scoring 13 PPG,
and at the bottom of the NFL in 2022 OL efficiency.

Channelling Bill Parcells....
Somebody has fooked up buying the groceries and the dinner is turning out pretty shitty! :?

Hey, and I do not hate Les Snead. I think he's very smart and shrewd....but his obvious lack of attention to a pretty major detail.....our 2022 OL.....has cost the team (that I follow) big time. It is disappointing to see McSnead overlook & ignore the past, and repeat their OL mistake of 2019.

As always, JMO.

GO RAMS!! MASH MURRAY!!! :!2: :!2: :!2:

Pretty strong stuff there Max. RM34 lacks football knowledge?

Yet Ramsey comes out trashing the offense (and indirectly McVay) and putting the loss directly on the offense (therefore McVay). You don't have to lose 53 guys. And when one of the highly paid stars is so vocal it makes you wonder how many of the lower level guys, not so secure in their roster spot, feel the same way?

I'm not saying he's lost the locker room or it's even started, but that's certainly not a vote of confidence and it doesn't look good.

McVay came into this gig supposedly knowing defense as well as offense. "He can talk about defense and knows so much". So I'd assume that would be O line as well. He's the guy in charge but it's Snead? ....at least as far as the bad decisions.......Or Kromer, a guy who hasn't coached for the Rams since 2020?

Sean Teflon McVay!!!

Yes, lately there DOES seem to be some suddenly increased harshness in tone coming from my fellow baby-boomer max. :o :arrow2: :shock2:

For example, max has recently denied that I, CanuckRW, was the original founding father of the RAMS-NEED-MORE-OL-TALENT CLUB, as he is now claiming it was always just only him, max all alone! :P
Of course this has caused me painful heartache & an acute loss-of-my-sense-of-self! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Finally, if you can believe it, I heard that max now wants to be called "maxtradamus" ;) :arrow2: :lol2:

....just a little mid-November jocularity from Up North! 8-)

GO RAMS! MOLEST MURRAY!!!! :!2: :!2: :!2:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Seriously, with regards to any perceived terseness (& the like) from well-travelled baby-boomers, IMO this phrase generally rings true:
AS WE AGE, WE SUFFER FOOLS LESS KINDLY! :idea2:

I have thick skin PA, know what I know, and what I don’t, and don’t take that all too personally from Max

However, Staff now in the protocol in no small part due to the sacks endured by Evans’ blocking inability, sure makes one wonder if Snead/the coaches have over-evaluated the OL as a whole and especially the depth players. I read somewhere that over eval of in-house players happens frequently. Me thinks this is the case. They used small sample sizes to project and left it at that. They are paying for it dearly now.

The semi-silver lining is that we have guys available now and adding Edwards in a week or so, that we should be able to protect a bit better and run block a bit better. Maybe the offense can get to 21 points/game. If the D is designed to give up 20 or less, well, we should win every game from here on out, no? The greatest turnaround is about to happen folks - we are playoff bound!!! 😎

Can’t wait to write this after the AZ game. Lol.

“Rams are going back to the SUPERBOWL. OL play was outstanding. We ran for over 140 yards.” Hahahahaha

It is an OVERREACTION thread, after all!!!

Questioning the soundness of any previous year SuperBowl winning team that's 3-5 the next season is not overreaction. It's not just the record. It's the way these games are lost. The offense is nothing short of pathetic. Everyone in Los Angeles knows that QB's like Stafford are only truly effective behind a solid O line. Toss in losing Robert and OBJ and you have the disaster we are watching every week.
