Considering the NFL revenue shares, I don't really see why it would be a problem to have just 1 team in LA. This isn't like NY where there is such a dense population that can support two different NFL franchises. I think LA suffers when supporting more than one franchise. I know the Rams did and there's always a clear favorite. The NFL's been without an LA franchise for 20 years so it really isn't prudent, IMO, to jump from 0 to 2 teams. Actually, to have 2 teams at all really.

It's because of the networks they both want a home team in LA. It doesn't make sense because they would have 2 teams competing against each other for corporate support. One of Carmen Policy's good points is that the NFL doesn't want a team with a fan base and the other without one in the LA market and he used it in regards to Carson so it seems that the Raiders market assessment failed for corporate support.

Wouldn't San Diego and LA work out for the networks or must they both be in LA? TV's are already on and if there are 2 teams I could see more blackout potential (if / when it's reinstated)

Both need to be in LA for it to be a material change in the TV contract for each individual network.

I am not sure what a 'material change' is. How do the needs of the TV networks rule the day anyway?

IMHO, the ROD site is worse than the PD board. At least with the PD board, you know exactly what they are about.

I used to donate when ever I had some extra cash in my paypal but I decided to stop because of some things I was told privately.

Well we're never gonna ask for money here, doubt we'll ever have ads either.

However, i am likely to pester posters without avatars to get one: It gives you and the site more personality and makes it easier to distinguish between individual posts. So c'mon fellas, avatar up...

I'm pissed at ROD. they deleted a couple of my posts. Seems some mods don't much care for my opinion. After my next post, I'll most likely be banned. (Ask me if I care)

Were they about Carson? If you were stating an opinion as fact (503 dislikes that) that's why. Or they are sticking their heads in the sand deeper then the pilings required to get to bedrock in your fair city. This place is spoiling us since we can speak freely. Let freedom ring.

A good example was the Rams moving from LA to St Louis. Leaving the #2 market and moving to at the time 18 or 19 tv market was a material change because Fox lost money and they asked for money back from the NFL. The needs of the networks matter because they're the largest source of revenues for the team.
