The Browns have to be the dumbest team in the league. Fully guaranteed??? They just destroyed contract negotiations for every other team in the league. Lol. Good for the players and agents, Bad for owners.

Poor owners. Back to eating store brand mac n cheese for dinner once again.

But yeah, the Browns just let the all money guaranteed monster out of the cage.

Smh. The Browns just ruined QB contract negotiations for the next half decade. I know they are desperate but damn, was there no other way?

Also, I think folks around the league are over valuing Watson who is a good QB obviously. First time I’ve seen an athlete miss a whole season due to legal problems and have his value go up.

The type of legal trouble isn't good for anyone's PR. Why overpay for that?

All true.

But as long as the TV money keeps going up, the cap is gonna keep going up and so are contracts.

Practically every new deal is going to seem insane. This is an extreme example but could be the norm in no time...

Yeah, the legal trouble is what it is whether he's actually done anything or not. But if he has done something.......and to the tune of 40 times......chances are fair, it's going to happen again. Unless of course his contract specifically has language to off set a lot of jack should the legal crap re-occur or the current stuff is devastating.

I realize Watson is a good QB with potential to be better but so many things can happen to make that deal a franchise killing mistake. Being the fact it's Cleveland.........they've never been known for their fantastic moves. However, the payoff is probably so enticing, they can't help themselves.
