I see 4 solid hits in that draft, with all their picks coming in the 3rd round and after. Not counting special teamers or bodies they just had to play because of circumstances. 3 Joseph Noteboom ... in 2021 a valued back-up who started several games and played well, and if they pay him, he's the 2022 starting LOT. If the Rams don't pay him he goes somewhere else to start. It's not very common to find a starting LOT after round 2, and actually not that common in round 2 either. 4 Brian Allen...he came through in 2021, and in fact fwiw he made PFF's top 101 players list for 20216 Sebastian Joseph-Day ... Rams starting NT before hurt, was playing well7 Travin Howard ... came through in 2021, a pass-coverage ILB who makes playsHitting on 40% in rounds 3-7 is good. A lot of teams don't have a 40% hit rate with 1st and 2nd round picks. In fact a 40% hit rate with 1st and 2nd round picks is above average drafting. This is a team built around a handful of stars who took up all the high picks and combined take up more than half of the cap space. The way you sustain a team like that is by getting good value out of lower round picks. And they've done that. They did it in 2018 through 2020. (Don't know about 2021 yet but it looks good too). They're averaging 4 hits a draft. They got very good value out of low round picks in that draft. Where's the problem? I won't get into the trades. Just looking at the hit rate with the picks they did have. It's one of the reasons they were a super bowl team. by Joe Pendleton 3 years 3 months ago Total posts: 2127 Joined: Jun 12 2021 LA Coliseum Pro Bowl RE: THAT FLAWLESS SNEAD DRAFT RECORD POST #36 PARAM liked this post CanuckRightWinger wrote:As always, right on the cusp of real-time reality ......PA wants to roast me over a post I wrote Saturday, October 20/2020 at 2:15 PM (Hey, I looked it up in my own Past Posts). They got very good value out of low round picks in that draft. Where's the problem? I won't get into the trades. Just looking at the hit rate with the picks they did have. I went with Whit's post 2019 Season interview with Cowherd when he said on air "it was unreasonable in 2019 to expect those two young players (Noteboom&Allen) to perform at the level of vets Saffold and Sullivan." Anyhoo...both Boom and Allen got IR'd about halfway thru that 2019 season...and with their other future collective injury time off/back-up status...I'd estimate we got about 1 Full Season of games started from Noteboom's 4 Ram Roster years, and about 1.5 seasons of GS from Allen's tenure as a Ram. Finally from the outset, of course, I listed Sebastien Joseph-Day as the pick-of-the-litter for Snead's 2018 Draft, and I hope Los Ramos find a shrewd Salary Cap way to keep the Rutgers stud for 2022 and beyond.Obviously following The Horns for all fans.....it's an emotional attachment IMO. McVay: 77-49, 2 Superbowls, 1 Lombardi............Doubt at your own peril by CanuckRightWinger 3 years 3 months ago Total posts: 2777 Joined: Jan 13 2016 VANCOUVER, BC Superstar RE: THAT FLAWLESS SNEAD DRAFT RECORD POST #38 TOPIC AUTHOR Apology accepted PA.Thanks.I agree that feuding about the 2018 Rams Draft DURING A SUPERBOWL AFTERGLOW... is pretty friggin nuts!....but then I am not the one who resurrected my old thread on the 2018 Draft, nor was I the guy who recently resurrected R4L's unfortunate rant from last November's skid, which IIRC, we all forgave and forgot.....and chalked it up to just a momentary overdose of passion. R4L is a fine poster and certainly didn't need that thread brought up now.....Weird that it ever even found the light of day again. We are all uber passionate Rams fans and we are all also wired differently....so some small bumps in the road can occur. No biggee IMO.Paraphrasing an old Three Dog Night line.....maybe some of us uber passionate types, myself included... should 'try a little tolerance.' PREDICTION: One year at SoFi Pennsylvania, we will share a RollingRock beer....or maybe a Molson's eh! In other news....I have started my 2022 Draftnik site gazing.....we are not going to be able to repeat in SBLVII y'know, if we don't hit on all those 6th Round Draft picks Snead is amassing!!! by PARAM 3 years 3 months ago Total posts: 13181 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame RE: THAT FLAWLESS SNEAD DRAFT RECORD POST #39 CanuckRightWinger wrote:PREDICTION: One year at SoFi Pennsylvania, we will share a RollingRock beer....or maybe a Molson's eh!
