The clock ticks. Five aldermen are needed for quorum. Right now they have 4.

Virvus Jones now speaking before aldermanic panel

Nicholas J.C. Pistor ‏@nickpistor 10m10 minutes ago
Based on comments, it appears if the convention committee held a vote on this public vote bill today it would end in a tie.

Virvus Jones says he promises he'll work against earnings tax renewal if there isn't a public vote on this stadium project.

Man tells aldermen he doesn't see enough anger in them.

No one speaks for NOT having a public vote. #STLNFL

Alderman Marlene Davis is now here; could change math on committee.

Thanks for the update but isn't this all pointless? Are they all sitting around thinking that they're going to figure out how to spend ESK's money? I mean, they're going through all of these motions to some how, some way, figure out how to scrape together the money to do...nothing on their own. It's comical.

What would Stan stand to gain by joining Spanos in Carson?

Say that 10-times really really fast :)

I don't know the answer to that question. I imagine it would make things a lot simpler if StL was out of the equation.

If Rams get the nod I guess it wouldn't matter, but if all things are as even as being depicted lately, a No vote should help the LA cause. No vote at all is better than a Yes vote by the Aldermen.
Whether the senate will fight hard is another story.
And whether Carson is even real is even another.

I must admit that the Fabiani spin machine is doing a fabulous job of fooling everyone involved. But I think Carson must have some validity beyond simple leverage. Nobody is that good.

If not real, the whole thing is a conspiracy to extort San Diego and/or Oakland.

I suppose that is as long as the FAA thingie is cleared up

Nothing to clear up, the FAA report cited last week says anything over 175ft could possibly be a potential problem. The initial specs for the stadium had it capped at 175ft. There was never an issue just click bait journalism.
